Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Yes the players were ill this week, that is not the issue.

The structures he employs are. Illness or not they do not work and are 3 years past their sell by date.

The longer he is here the harder it will be to repair the damage he is doing.

I expected us to lose today, I also think we will be there or there abouts when the trophies are handed out when we get bodies on the field, however the team plays with no joy, they will always fail to reach the heights they should even if we do win and we are just so dull to watch.

did you honestly expect to lose by that amount though, wakey just threw the ball around for fun in the end and it just seemed to pay off

No I thought it would be a close game maybe Trinity by 12.

As bad as Wigan were Trinity were good. No halves, no leadership, poor ball control and a static defensive line and a clueless attack cannot be swept under the carpet as issues all coming from injury and illness however the coach tries.

Obviously the scoreline is a shocker for us. I don't want to take anything away from Wakefield who played very well however I wonder how many players who played were fit to take the field. With a number of players being sent home with a virus means, even if they are getting over it their energy levels would be somewhat diminished which would have a massive effect on the team performance. We'll probably never know what state some of those players were in and how many put their hands up to play when they shouldn't have. I'm not usually one to look for excuses but I think it's appropriate today.

The point about illness is a fair one, but would carry more weight if this poor performance was a one-off, but as jonh says:

It was a joy to watch behind the sticks as Wakefield ran lines, supported the ball and worked the ball into space. Wigan drift around the pitch sliding and put the ball out of the back.......that is it.

Sorry john, what is this "running lines supporting the ball and working the ball into space nonsense? It will never catch on - certainly in Wigan anyway! :(

All those times you lost by 60 points (there have been plenty haven't there?), I guess the other team was just much better were they? No excuses...

Weren't you lot calling for Kirmknd to be binned off 5 weeks ago?

You should be worrying about your own misgivings not Kirmond, he certainly gave your players the runaround today :D

I hear Matty Smith is out now adding to Wigan's problems. The injury ? Repetitive strain of the right ankle !

Interesting that the media is saying the Wigan team were a weakened and young team when Wakefields backline in particular is very young itself.
