I am definitely getting old, I almost chocked when I saw your suggest only to realise that I often get the name Brian McDermott mixed up with the name Barrie McDermott.

It seems he was considered by Australia but rejected in favour of Mal Meninga. Bennett is non too pleased and may set out to prove them wrong. Could be a very good appointment for a couple of years. We can hardly accuse the RFL of lacking ambition - if true.

It's a shame when Steve Mc has kept us competitive and just won a series but we can't turn down Wayne Bennett. I hope they keep Steve Mcon as assistant and give him another crack when Bennett calls it a day.
