So that's the entirely of it?

That's your evidence?

It's a good rumour so I'm going with it.

Sorry mate, try again.

Mate why don't you just go and sod off and go and mither someone else.
If you think I'm going to put on forum all of the details your as daft as I think you are.
Your pretty good at pontificating so I thought you would be in the know anyway.

All day drinking and sunny weather.......

Just when things were looking more positive after beating Cas on Thursday, I bet Salford are rubbing their hands. :?

Indeed. Seems to be all forwards getting mentioned as well which is an area we're weak in currently due to other injuries to the likes of Clubb, McIlorum, Farrell and Lockers. Add in another two or three absentees (if all rumours are correct which is hopefully unlikely) and their pack will have a field day.

I think that is a bit harsh as all 3 are either carrying injuries or returning from long term injuries.

Joel is clearly playing busted and I do agree his form has not been great, Mossop for me after recovering from his injury problems is playing well. He is still a bit hit and miss but he seems to be finding consistency lately and confidence.

Sam was never going to continue playing like he did when he first hit the scene. I think he however has returned to first team action this year as good as you could have hoped for.

I don't expect to see him tearing through defences however I think his impact will still be as great just in a different way.

If anyone wants to pm me regarding the rumours I would be grateful, feel like I'm being left out!

Joel has been back almost two years now and has played around 50 games since his return - I've seen nothing thus far to suggest he's the player he was before he left.

Mossop has played almost 40 games since his return - his lack of heart and go forward is embarrassing for a prop forward.

That's plenty of time to show they aren't the players they once were for us.

Sam has just come back from a serious injury which is bound to affect his pace and contribution. I expect him to be by far the best returnee but I doubt we'll see him as we did before he left.

Mossop is just the annual scapegoat this year. He is going at 7.61m per carry which is better than most of our other forwards.

Mossop has been alright lately but it's taken him 18 months to get to a decent level. I've said it before but the fact we gave him a 3 year deal with injury concerns surrounding him was silly.

I could be wrong but I think we gave Joel a 4 year contract as well which is unbelievable when we've seen Union converts in the past fail badly when coming back to League.

I don't scapegoat, it's right in front of our eyes.

Seeing as you like to express stats I'm surprised you don't look at how many times Mossop has actually broken a tackle this year?

I've had a look at our forwards and it confirms what I see when I watch the game.

Player /Tackle busts /Carries /Carries to break a tackle
Bateman /69 /1795 /26
Tautai /27 /1053 /39
Farrell /15 /790 /53
O'Loughlin /15 /653 /44
Clubb /13 /871 /67
J Tomkins /8 /473 /59
Gregson /8 /380 /48
Sutton /7 /1061 /152
Flower /7 /619 /88
Burke /5 /395 /79
Mossop /4 /1020 /255
Crosby /3 /309 /103
Isa /1 /500 /500

Mossop has carried the ball over a thousand times and broken a tackle a grand total of 4. By some distance our worse prop when you consider games/how many times they touch the ball.

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.

I think that what Sam may have lost in pace, he has gained in defence, game awareness and guile.

He definitely looks to be a different player now but looks far more confident in defence and his presence in the offensive line gives the opposing defence doubts on how our attack will play out.

As regards the rumours floating round, I hope more is being made of it than what actually transpired but if the worst comes to the worst, hope we mange to keep Scrappy-Doo

and lose the Tin Man.

You have made a comment about quoting stats, but you have posted data that makes no sense, there is no way that Mossop has carried the ball 1000 times this year. Where are these figures from? If he had played 20 games this year he would be taking 50 carries a game.
