You have made a comment about quoting stats, but you have posted data that makes no sense, there is no way that Mossop has carried the ball 1000 times this year. Where are these figures from? If he had played 20 games this year he would be taking 50 carries a game.

i'm glad someone else picked that up!

Copied the wrong column . As others have said, that was metres and not carries. Here's the correct info - honest.

Player --- Tackle Busts --- Carries --- Carries needed to bust a tackle
Bateman --- 69 --- 253 --- 4
Tautai --- 27 --- 150 --- 6
Farrell --- 15 --- 98 --- 7
O'Loughlin --- 15 --- 115 --- 8
Clubb --- 13 --- 110 --- 8
J Tomkins --- 8 --- 73 --- 9
Gregson --- 8 --- 64 --- 8
Sutton --- 7 --- 158 --- 23
Flower --- 7 --- 100 --- 14
Burke --- 5 --- 63 --- 13
Mossop --- 4 --- 134 --- 34
Crosby --- 3 --- 40 --- 13
Isa --- 1 --- 85 --- 85

Mossop still the worst prop by far when taking into account how many carries he takes in. Only Isa in the forwards is worse.

Re: Rumours and signings v9 : Tue May 31, 2016 12:10 pm
I don't think I'd really judge a prop by his average in terms of breaks and tackle busts but rather by his average gains and his workrate in attack and defence. If we'd have compared Feka Paleaaesina's busts and breaks to Jamie Peacocks around 2009/10 I'm pretty sure he'd have bested him but it's clear who the better prop is.

I'm not saying I'm overly happy with Mossop but he's been pretty good this year. He has thrown in a couple of really awful performances against Wire and Hull but in the main his form has been much improved.

That makes more sense, thanks! Not a good showing as a group. Wigan rely too much on the backs to get a roll on

To get this thread back on track, James Segeyaro has been dumped in the reserves by Penrith Panthers and they apparently want shut as soon as possible.

http://www.zerotackle.com/panthers-dump-segeyaro-to-reserve-grade-22139/#6LA02Tb8s1PDB4c6.97

This article mentions Leeds as a possible destination but i would seriously hope we're interested too.

What the stats do show is that Mossop is not winning the collision anywhere near what he should, hence why he doesn't break the line. Too often I see him take it to the line drop like a stone and therefore give the opposition time to dominate the ruck. He simply doesn't run his size for me.

I have heard he has been suspended for a month. Not certain on this because this came from a different source. To some degree I hope it is true.
