We have been told Bateman is staying with Wigan by a pretty good source, however there's been that many rumours I don't know what to believe

It would be surprising to see him go to Oz with him having a young daughter but who knows.

I'd be sorry to see him go but if the club feel there's no option then you'd have to back them.

Along with Farrell they are the only forwards who can make breaks on a regular basis however, I'm with you NK on this one in that the club has to do what it feels necessary to bring this issue to its natural end irrespective of his undoubted skills.

I'm still clinging to hope that after his suspension he will rejoin the squad and get back into the first team however, the longer the silence persists from the club then I don't see him being here by the end of the season if not earlier.

Potentialy a very sad ending to what could have been a great career.

Agreed. I can't help thinking like you, Itchy, that the longer this drags on, the less likely we'll see him in a Wigan shirt again. A real shame if that is the case.

Dose the month suspension cover the Saturday match when we play Castleford on the 25th June.

It did say in last weeks Observer that the issue was expected to be investigated. Assume this meant IL was back from abroad (France) and/or Rads back from Aus.
