Has anyone seen the video online of Daryl Powell's first meeting with the squad? The fact it was released is bizarre but Powell's talk was bloody awful. Uninspiring, dull, condescending - could completely understand players feeling disillusioned if that's the guy they have to play for.

A real boost for our chances this season. We need more ground around the middle, especially against Saints and he can hopefully provide that. As much as his Wigan career fizzled out, I remember the boost Frank Paul Nuaausala gave us in 2016 and hopefully Cooper can do the same. He made his debut away at Leeds as well funnily enough (that pretty much confirms our Grand Final 2022 win).

Iv just watched it and it’s not as bad as I was expecting, his ideas seem okay but I agree he’s very uninspiring and dull and you can imagine that’s potentially the reason why the players don’t seem to be buying in. When you listen to someone like Wane you think players will run through walls for him as he’s so inspiring when he speaks and has an aura, i just didn’t get that from Powell there. I think it’s really interesting to see what happens with Warrington under him, very surprised he’s not been sacked and even more so he’s been let carry out such an overhaul and backed for next season. His track record is pretty good I suppose so maybe he deserves time but if Peet had Wigan in that position I’d be calling for his head and imo Peet inherited a much worse team.
