Tony Clubb, given the all clear on his neck.
Flower, FPN, Clubb and Tautai are a great set of first choice props and having Sutton, Bretherton and Navarette in reserve is hardly a bad situation. But I do think its a shame if Crosby leaves as I think another club will end up reaping the benefits of the hard work we've done with him. I don't think too many will lose sleep over Mossop moving to Leigh.

That is great news!
Made up for him as that was a worrying injury.
Our pack looks very menacing moving into next year. Just hope we can keep them all fit.

| Tony Clubb getting the all clear is brilliant news & confirms to me that Crosby probably is on his way to Wire. Like Jack Hughes, I imagine he wants guaranteed first team rugby & at Wigan he isn't going to get that. I don't think Warrington have the same strength in depth in the pack that we do & so it will be less about Wigan wanting to get rid, but more Crosby looking to secure his future. Good luck to him.
Our pack with FPN, Flower, Clubb and Tautai is monsterous. That is 4 big units. Sutton, Bretherton and Navarette in reserve too. That is a healthy pack for next season.
I can't say I will lose any sleep over Lee Mossop. He has had a torrid time with shoulder injuries & it is right we move on. I wish him all the best at Leigh.
How does Joel Tomkins come back into the side next season? I think Bateman/Farrell definitely start & Lockers has proven that if he is fit he must play. Willie Isa has been solid for us, but I would imagine Joel will start on the bench ahead of him.
McIlorum and Powell share the hooking duties. I wonder if we will sign Dwyer from Wire?
The question marks aren't really in the forwards for me - it is the backs.
Sam Tomkins will he be fit? Morgan Escare to cover?
How do we cover for Manfredi next year? When is he back? I can't say Lewis Tierney fills me with much confidence. Warrington clearly targetted him all game (yet ironically had more success with Charnley).
How do we replace Sarginson? Can Gildart do a full season at centre? Especially without Dom Manfredi alongside him?
Matty Smith I presume has moved on. Leuluai and Williams in the halves. Who will kick next season?
Does Ryan Hampshire get moved on or brought back into the side?

| i was thinking that myself. Rocky is the perfect fit to fight with LT for the Manfredi spot and could also cover Sam. If he doesnt want to come back and fight for a place, then he doesnt deserve to come back.
However we would still be short of a centre, so I would imagine the Club will announce 1 permanent new back as a replacement for Sarge.
I'm sure we are also looking at Gabe Fell to see if another year has bulked him out enough to be ready for SL.

| Crosby leaving is a real worry on last nights showing, especially when you consider that it's meant to be to one of our closest rivals. The issue he's always had is that he doesn't do that enough but that comes with age and experience.
Great news about Clubb and that offsets it a little but I'd rather have them both.

| I would be disappointed to lose Crosby but at the end of the day he isn't a player that is essential to our success. Losing him to our close rivals would also be a a bit if a blow, but if it were to be a catolist for Dwyer to come to us I would be more than happy.

| Just re-watched the game back and Crosby had a great game.
As did Sarginson. Absolutely incredible bringing the ball out and always made himself available. 31 carries and 276 meters in a Grand Final is outstanding. Unlucky not to get MoM considering he set up the winning try as well.

He could do with a bit more finesse but we will miss Sarge next year. His work rate, the yards and the pressure he takes off the forwards is invaluable.

Prepare for the Virtual Terrace self combusting if he gets picked at fb for England.
Probably somewhere near the furore when Williams gets the No6 shirt
Maty Smith getting the 7 (unlikely I admit) would just be too much for some of the regulars over there.

The likes of Gildart or Tierney should consider taking goal kicking practice as a way of nailing a place in the starting 13 - just as Frano Botica and Pat Richards did.

Quite disappointed to hear this.
Rocky must be the most badly advised kid currently playing the game.
If he'd stuck around a bit longer, instead of listening to fantasists who reckoned the only thing keeping him out of the England no. 6 shirt was Shaun Wane, he'd have got a shot at playing in the Wigan halves most of the season while George Williams was injured. If he'd impressed in that role, he might even have figured in the Grand Final.
Instead, he warms the bench at Castleford all season, and now has signed for Leigh (apparently). Great career trajectory.

The other thing is, will he even get a game for Leigh? Can't see him getting in the halves unless there's an injury. He won't be fullback ahead of McNally/Smith. And Leigh are well covered on the wings. I just can't see him getting a game there either.

I know.
Wigan are currently short on backs, and likely to remain so for quite a while. What a time for him to jump ship.
I keep thinking about previous exciting kids who were really 'badly done-to' at Wigan because they weren't getting picked all the time; the likes of Nicky Stanton, Shaun Ainscough.
And where are they now?
We didn't see Jake Shorrocks getting uppity and making demands. He just knuckled down, got on with it and took his chances. That's the way you make a career for yourself.

Completely agree.
Two points - firstly I hope Ken brings his tin hat with him because some folks round here expect nothing less than a combination of Kevin Sinfield/Jonny Wilkinson to be kicking for us!
And secondly it is sad that Catalans can't bring on the French players in their squad. They have already lost Springer and now Pelissier and Navarette have left. Escare was a great talent a few years ago. I've heard that their French players are paid buttons so that the likes of Taylor, Stewart and Carney can hoover up the cap. Look how that's working out.

I first saw him at their place a few years ago playing outside Daz Goulding who, as was his wont, put about three on a plate for him, but his positional play was poor and he bombed the chances. However this year he has done well, he has pace and power and looks reasonable in the air. Stood in well at full back for a spell. I think he'd fit in well here. Probably not for the first 13, but would be a good addition to the squad.
