I look at Escare being signed on a one year deal and I can't help but think that indicates he's been signed as a back up player and no more tbh. He'll get his chance early doors due to injuries to Tomkins and Manfredi but longer term the club obviously want to have a look at him before they're convinced he's got a long term future.



In summary I don't think his signing has any bearing on Williams future currently. If he plays out of his skin though it may save the club a bob or two if Williams does decide to move on and we move Tomkins up in to the halves.

Just like Tierney, Escare won't be a long term prospect at full back if he doesnt develop a passing game. Our style of play requires it.

I'm not really sure about this. I think there are several different types of fullback who can be very useful to a side.



Tomkins moved to fullback and suddenly that is the blue print for a fullback. I don't buy into that personally.



I'm not a massive fan of Escare but he has pace that can be just as effective as a passing game. Sarg took over at 1 from Tomkins and in my opinion that changed our season significantly for the better.



Billy Slater has no real passing game, Boyd has no natural passing game and he is the best in the business by a long way at the moment.

Don't get too excited. You might develop one of your own before then, and pull out of the deal. You never know. Miracles do sometimes happen.

While I agree with you to a point, a passing game is a huge benefit. I will also argue that Boyd has an excellent passing game that has contributed to his standing as the best in the business.

If he replies to you I will be shocked. Seems reliable sources on here and other forum says ne is not going. Has Williams used Wire to get a fat pay day from us or is he going to the NRL. Feeling I have he will sign another 2-3 year and then head off.
