If Williams wants to leave that's his choice, I just hope it's to the NRL rather than another SL club. If other clubs are prepared to offer far more than us so be it, we have a salary cap to balance and only 1 marquee allowance to use. To match the money of others would be detrimental to the team as a whole.

That said I'm not sure he is ready for the NRL yet. If he does go there the pressure and expectations will be similar to that when Tomkins went, anything less than a superstar and he will be berated in the press. If I were him I'd be asking for a 5 year deal at Wigan with a release clause for the NRL and looking to go either at the end of 2018 or 2019.

Excellent news if true.

Hopefully we'll get at least a couple more years from him at least before he tries his hand in the NRL, with a nice transfer fee and first option if he decides to return to SL.

Rumour on the TotalRL Site that Morgan Escare has been offered a four year deal by Wigan.
I hope he re-signs soon.

The person who told me Williams was likely to move to the NRL has messaged me tonight saying he's had a change of heart after Wigan have managed to come up with a better offer then he was initially told they could.

He will by all accounts now be staying at Wigan which is outstanding news if true.

Just need escare to sign a long term deal and a win at Leeds to make a pretty damn good week.
On reflection If we have upped our offer I wonder how we have funded this? Someone to exit?

Here's hoping it is.

Hard to speculate how they've funded it but as long as they have that's the main thing. There's probably only Liam Farrell and John Bateman in the squad who I'd be as desperate to keep.

Brilliant news if true, although it means someone will likely be exiting, can see that being Tautai in all honesty, I'd lose any 1 one of our props fro Williams tbh. Now if only we can get Escare to sign longer it'll be brilliant news, Bateman Farrell Escare and Williams would be players I'd be bitterly dissapointed if we lost

Would be nice to hang onto George if for no other reason than to show that our youngest and best won't always opt to leave the first moment they get a sniff of the NRL.
