To be fair, the ignorant staff were there before the current chairmens time. I'm certain Mick Hogan will employ his own merchandising staff to take over the running of the new store to complement the existing staff who chat away behind desk not doing much whilst belittling the 16 year old who carries out all their work.

They appointed a new Head of Retail over a month ago, ( the Guy from Burnley FC ) you would have thought sorting out the staff in the shop and the standards would have been a priority, obviously not!!

Your right they were there before so it’s not all Mick Hogan and IL fault. You would have thought tho after the mess up with the shirts this would have been a seamless event that had been prepared for and planned. I just don’t get that feeling for some reason. The merchandise error can only be described as pitiful. It’s the club shop FFS and they have players names spelt wrong. It may not have been their fault but they shouldn’t have been out on the shelves and I’m sure someone like Mick Hogan will agree with that.

Have we not just employed a new store manager who ran Burnley Football's club shop btw? This was his first major test as a manager and he doesn't seem to have passed with flying colours. Even if he’s not a fan he should know the players names as it’s his job and professionalism means he has to know these things same goes with any job you learn the products when you start.

Believe it or not i don't like being this negative with the club but we all have such high expectations when it comes to this club whether that be in the players we have, the coaches or the girls in the shop we always expect the best possible result. It shouldn't be any other way should it?

I think that we really need a shop on Robin Park near to the ground so that any travelling Wigan fans (yes they really do exist as I am one!!) can buy merchandise when they come to a match.

They've set up stalls all round the stadium for travelling fans on matchday.

Not just away fans. Casual shoppers will doubtless pop in whilst they're on Robin Park. Something that won't be happenning at the min due to the shop's bad location.

The only positive is that it's near what was 10 years ago, Central Park. That's it. They call it a town centre shop, but it isn't really. If you were shopping in the town centre, yu wouldn't go in, unless you made a special trip. Their passing trade must be virtually zero

Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

Absolutely, last couple of seasons my lass has bought me a shirt as a Crimble present, she can't get one from a game cos I'll be there (plus we're in the bloody season).

Instead I shall be bookmarking http://www.rugbyleaguelegends.com as a hint this year.

The thing is (and at the risk of giving Pemps a big head) Wigan SHOULD be looking to stock some of Pemps' stuff, even though it's unofficial. It would sell well. That, and access to Micron Video's back catalogue, and all the stuff that Kooga have released as merchandise. I'm sure Wiganers would prefer to buy from the club, wouldn't they?

Burnley FC's club shop was seriously nowhere near as good as the independent one in the town.
That might explain somethibng.

Oh dear, if thats true I wonder if they checked him out fully, before they appointed him?
You would have thought someone would have gone over to have a look at what he,d been responsible for??

Actually yes, especially if a bit of it was going back into the club.
