Slowly but surely the discipline instilled by a professional coach in maguire is being replaced with the thuggery of wane. Shame really!!
Eh?
Maguire was Beelzebub on these here forums for turning us into out and out thugs, who relished in twisting limbs, attacking joints and gang tackling poor defenselessness attackers.
The fury from some fantasist morons on here was comical
Especially when the infamous "roadkill" poster was revealed. There were knickers being "wetted" all along the 62.
Honestly the VAST majority of RL fans these days are a bunch big girls blouses.
People laud the real tough guys of yesteryear and like to spout of the this is "the toughest sport in the world" but start wailing when Wigan gang tackle a halfback.
With the exception of about a 20 posters, the rest are one eyed hypocrites that prefer to have their own anti wigan bias as opposed to having some enjoyable conversation about this sport of ours.

aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

This... Some of the posts on here have been laughable.... The good thing is, we are still hated, thank goodness for that!!

The over reactions are laughable and it's not just fans reactions. I watched the incident were Eamon O'Carroll ran 20 yards to get to Sutton after Joe Mellor fell over the other night. That was embarrassing by O'Carroll!!
Sadly it's becoming common place against Wigan. Opposition teams don't like the aggression we display so blow up at every opportunity to try and influence the refereeing regardless of their being a foul or not. It's common place when we play Leeds and Widnes took it on the other night.
It's why we need to learn to not fall for it. Display the aggression, make the tackles and move away. We need to stop getting involved in slanging matches and games of push and shove.
Hope that's not a dig at me coz I can't remember the last time I posted anything negative about a Wigan player apart from suggesting Matty Smith wouldn't have done what he did the other night a few years ago.
No not at you personally. Just an observation that your comment fits about 90% of the posts on RL fans, and 100% of those about our so called "dark arts".

Absolute nonsense. This proves that people post opinions on players based on a 2 minute clip they've watched or something they've heard down the pub.
How many times has he been penalised for foul play? How many people has he punched, stamped on or dropped on their heads? How many bans has he had?
"Disgusting excuse for a human being." What a load of rubbish. Do you know anything about the man? Have you met him?
You really need to take your blinkers off when posting about players from other clubs. This is nothing but hate-fuelled drivel.
If you want to go down the how many times have been penalised for foul play nonsense, then I think you'll see that for a "team of thugs" Wigans stats don't add up. Apart from Micky Mac, I don't see any of our players as being dirtier than anyone else. If you go on your board or the VT, we're the dirtiest team to have ever played the game! Hate-fuelled drivel anyone?
By the way, for someone who isn't dirty, that was a lovely cheap shot on Morgan Escare Friday night. It was nice of Sky not to show it again. If that had been a Wigan player, they would have been all over it, and your board among others as well as the VT would have been wetting themselves. He'll be getting some bans soon, the way he's played the last couple of games i've seen.
A stupid act of petulance from one player in comparison to a team being unable to play within the rules tackle after tackle to the point of the young lad having to be the fall guy and getting sin binned.
Masoe up to his usual tricks near the end also, winding people up then lashing out before quickly moving backwards and hiding behind his teammates. He looks to have modelled his game on Ryan Bailey.
Very poor discipline as pointed out. We were also poor in that department on Thursday night but the vast majority of Wigan fans have already condemned that.
Absolutely spot on. Can't believe no one has jumped up and down about that cheap shot by Masoe. The biggest player on the pitch attacking the smallest, off the ball and it's Wigan who are thugs! That one incident was far worse than anything that happened Thursday. magine if one of our players had done that.

Are you talking about the incident in the 79th minute? Because that was one of the most embarrassing decisions of the weekend (though that award goes to the decision not to penalise Leeds for the most obvious obstruction ever) - Masoe went through as a dummy runner, Escare ran into his back tackling him and somehow that's a penalty. Masoe literally had no idea what was going on until he looked around. There's a 17 minute highlight reel on the Internet you can go check.
If you want something to jump up and down about, how about Pelissier literally jumping into Wilkin, hitting him high and late (and somehow still getting the penalty)?

Cheap shot? Wow. If you are incapable of posting without blinkers on then why bother? You are just making yourself look silly here.

I rewound the live coverage to try to see what happened, because I saw Escare with a bloody nose, it looked like Masoe had caught him as he ran past late and off the ball. I guess you don't always see everything as clearly on TV as you do at the game. Apologies for that if he did run into his back, it looked bad what little of Sky showed of it. I'm just fed up with the nonsense about us being labelled thugs. Flowers was the only red card last season, our disciplinary record is on a par with everybody else.
