Phelps has undoubted potential imo and I’m still not buying into this whole FB is the most important spot in RL. We have much, much bigger holes to fill as Phelps is doing well imo and has earned a new deal.

We are desperate for a new HB as it will absolutely transform this team and take us to another level.

Exactly what I was going to say. I think Phelps does a fair bit in attack for us IMO.

Looks very good in our current set up, our attacks are very basic, and that's why he looks good, bring in a class SH, who introduces top class attacking moves and he'll be lost and won't know were to be. Average at best, and simply not good enough if we want to move on and get better. plus taking a quota spot.

How do you know this will be the case? We have not had Phelps at full back when we have had a class SH. There are more important positions to fill for 2010 in our squad. He should stay IMO.

Has anyone thought we may sign Jamie lyon to play 6.

would be a fantastic signing, but i think if he came back to england it would be to saints. Seems a loyal kinda player, i know a lot say they wouldnt play for another club etc etc but lyon seemed to like saints a lot.

Saints have signed Soliola.

I think lyon is off contract also.

Lyons girlfriend is from st Helens also if i recall correctly
