I believe that it is being announced today that MM has gone. He is saying his goodbyes to the rest of the squad then he is off.

Working on the assumption that ST is moving into the halves letting him go makes perfect sense. We like be left with MM, TL and SP for the hooking position with Ganson also starting to push for a spot.

If we can’t bring anyone in at short notice isngives is a bit of available cap space to bring someone in mid season if required.

As well as Powell did in 2016, I really don’t see him as a 1st choice 9 at Wigan.

Agreed, he is a placeholder whilst Ganson develops IMO.

As an 80 minute hooker Powell is a good player but as seen last year, he’s nowhere near as effective when he does short spells.

If Tommy is going to hooker next year then that will continue so I wouldn’t expect too much from him again.

I'm not a great fan of Powell but a bit like yourself I respected his efforts in 2016.
Maybe he will develop his kicking game to give him more of a chance to be starting hooker rather than TL?
TL I believe did not enjoy his season last year and was disappointed in how the club has changed since he left originally for NZ.

As the saying goes, if you would change the world, best start with yourself. To put it mildly, TL has to take some personal responsibility for our poor play last season.

I think that's being kind to him. He was bog-awful from start to finish.
