Tuson 5 years is a bit silly. Not the same quality as Farrell and Hansen and there's others coming through who I think will end up better players. 2 year deal with option of a third

You obviously didnt watch him closely when he was filling hansens shoes earlier in the season. Better than both Burke and Rhodri Lloyd and hits a lot harder in D than Faz.

He is 24 and given the mass exedous toAus i think a 5 year deal for a 24 year old wigan lad ( well Leyland actually) who is a regular in the 17 week in week out would be a good deal. You need good solid players in every squad and Tuson is exactly that

On the south coast with a load of retired folk. Makes me feel young.

The mystery fullback signing isn't Dugan, he's signed for St. George. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kevin Locke as part of the Tomkins deal.

I doubt Locke would get a visa. He has convictions and has served community work for driving offences

Apparently Sam's and mum and Shane Wane's wife are being flown to Auckland by the Warriors in a bid to get Sam on a $1,000,000 a year. That's according to this podcast, listen from 15.25 for some Aussie arrogance regarding, rumors about Sam, Hock and Super League.

 I know this move has been talked about a LOT in this thread over the past 2 weeks but with the Aussie media talking about it more and more it suggests the deal is almost done and the Wigan team of 2014 will be without Tomkins, thus meaning emphasizing the importance of winning some silverware in 2013 because I can see a period of even greater transition and un-competitiveness around the corner.

IMO he was poor last year and many of us questioned his inclusion most weeks. This year he's been much improved so I would like to see him get a new contract but 5 years is way too much when you have Burke who is almost as good despite having far fewer games under his belt and Hughes and Lloyd who will both be pushing for spots. I'd give him 2 years to keep him on his toes. I'd hate to be stuck with the Tuson of 2012 for half a decade!

Does anyone else think, that with Tommy getting so much criticism down under, we should make a serious bid to bring him back? Would certainly add stability to the squad next year if Sam goes?

No, purely because we don't need a halfback or hooker and I'm happy with how Green, Smith and McIlorum are playing so far.

Tommy is an anomoly for me, his defence is superb but he doesn't do anything spectacular in attack on a regular basis. He isn't a great organiser, he isn't a great passer of the ball and his kicking is average at best, despite all that he's a good player and I've no idea why lol. It doesn't surprise me hes getting slated down under, for all the above reasons.
