IMO he was poor last year and many of us questioned his inclusion most weeks. This year he's been much improved so I would like to see him get a new contract but 5 years is way too much when you have Burke who is almost as good despite having far fewer games under his belt and Hughes and Lloyd who will both be pushing for spots. I'd give him 2 years to keep him on his toes. I'd hate to be stuck with the Tuson of 2012 for half a decade!
Totally disagree, he wasn't poor at all. He just didn't get anywhere near enough minutes to make the sort of impression he managed to make this year when starting games each week. He's a solid 7/10 player who will keep doing the same things week in week out and won't let you down. He won't start bouncing off defenders for fun, making storming breaks or scoring bags of individual scores but he will do the tough stuff in huge quantity. He'll take you in 3 or 4 carries a set if you asked him to, he'll throw himself in to every tackle and he'll try and support every half break. He's a workaholic that needs big minutes to be given the sort of recognition he deserves.
I do however agree 5 years would be excessive simply because we produce so many players. There's every chance guys we already have or will produce in the future will overtake him and if they do we may need to make cap space. Tuson may need to be sacrificed at some point but certainly not yet.
A three year deal would seem about right to me.
