Ian Lenagan, is this acceptable? : Fri Mar 27, 2009 11:27 pm
Can anybody see this inconsistency ever ending?

Something needs to be re-shuffled and something has to be done to place a bit of solidarity at the club.

There is something wrong, clearly. We've gone through years of inconstency, uncertainty and no confidence yet have been saved with a decent end of season and playoff run.

Sorry, but ''the business end of the season'' crap doesn't warrant three out of four losses at home, it doesn't warrant Jeckyl and performances nor does it help the cause of actually get in the playoffs to even be involved with ''the business end of the season''.

This thread isn't panicking it isn't whinging and it isn't over reaction...I've been through all those emotions over the last few years. Unfortunately it's what I am now used to. Also, I think this is more than just a ''coaching issue''. We have a world class coach and world class players as well as the countries finest youngsters...Why can't we find a formula to make them consistently work?

Our attendances are reflecting the performances on the pitch and when you consider Mr. Lenagan's aim of averaging 20,000 within the next 2 years...Well, it just goes to show how things aren't going to plan from his perspective.

Maybe he will need to continue to bus down more coachloads of Cumbrians on freebies to achieve it.

The game is attracting fans from far and wide, including twelve coach loads of Rugby League fans from Cumbria with the amateur clubs of Kells, Ulverston and Hensingham, amongst others, heading to the JJB Stadium for the big match.

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.

The sad thing is we are now a very average team in Super League terms.

Results like tonight's match show how poor Salford and Bradford must have been to let us beat them so convincingly.

As I gaze into my crystal ball I see a convincing win against Barrow to come closely followed by yet another stuffing against Stains the following Thursday.

Joy :( :( :(

O'Loughlin, Hock, Riddell, Roberts, Fielden, Smith, Bailey have all earned world recognized awards/call ups but aren't producing the same form currently at Wigan.

Either way, those mentioned aren't bottom 7 standard players are they?

Did you think they would have been bad signings BEFORE we sign them?
