Clearly. In 2006 we went 8 points adrift at the bottom of the table, taking a mammoth effort for us just to finish 8th. At one stage I thought it was at least 50/50 that we would go down, I'm sure others would have been less optimistic. Last season I don't remember ever considering relegation, or giving up on us making the Grand Final during the regular season. Just totally different, one was up and down; the other went from disastrous to sublime.

Atmosphere wise the DW stadium has never seen better. Would I like to do it again..... only with hindsight

The 2nd half of 2006 was probably the most I’ve enjoyed watching Wigan ever, but I certainly wouldn’t want to be that close to relegation again.

the last 12 league games we played 12 won 10 wit ha 1 point defeat and a 2 point defeat. It was one hell of a 2nd half to the year.

When we lost away at wakey mid season i remember throwing the tv remote across the room thinking were gone.
