Anyway, he’s going to saints, from what I have been told. Time will tell.

Ah, I forgot about the furlough rules. Heard a few clubs now to be honest, us, Warrington and now Saints

He's coming back as his dad looks to be on the brink after contracting the coronavirus.
The lad has had nothing but bad luck over the last couple of years, he looked in the best shape physically of his career going into this season, so it's such a shame that he's having to come home, especially under these circumstances.

Watkins to Wigan as Gildart's replacement, with Greenwood signing for Leeds permanently is the rumour.
If he can get back to his best then he'd be a great signing and an upgrade on most what you have at the moment.

I’d personally rather have Gildart and to be honest I’m fairly happy with how Zak is going at centre too, Monet would be better spent elsewhere imo.

Gildart will go at the end of the season I imagine so replacing him with an international centre (he probably still gets the 3 shirt) isn't a bad thing

Watkins is a far better centre than Hardaker, and at his best is better than Gildart. I do think Gildart will struggle with the physicality of the NRL. No British back has managed to play a full season over there and stand out since Carney went there over a decade ago.

If the NRL is going to emerge from this crisis as slimmed-down as some folk are saying, I'd be surprised if there was any room there for Gildart. It's quite evident that he wants to go - he's part of that new British generation who seem to consider it a birthright to become stars in the NRL before returning over here for a retirement payday. But while he's a decent enough centre in the UK, the Aussies must have some reservations about his lack of size in a comp where most 3/4s are massive, and if a couple of clubs do go under or wages are cut or whatever, and suddenly there are quality and tested NRL backs on the market, where will Gildart stand then?

It's a fair point, the NRL gravy train maybe about to end, good news for our comp if their cap is reduced, and if a couple of clubs do go under, it will potentially increase the player pool for our clubs.

hes not as good as Zak now or Gilly, at his best? was 7-8 years ago, Sam Tomkins first season was very good
