Strange day at Leigh. : Thu Jan 28, 2016 9:10 pm  

On the rumors an signings page early this afternoon Cherry and White Davo announced that Paul Rowley had quit Leigh with immediate effect stating personal reasons.
In the hours since there hasn't been one comment on the Wigan board which either means Wigan fans do not frequent this board during the day or they aren't interested in anything other that Wigan.
The Leigh board has gone viral (now on 15 pages) quoting Rowleys statement in which he thanked everyone at Leigh but failed to mention the Chairman.

In the last couple of hours another bombshell has hit the Club, Ryan Brierley has said that he is quitting the club, saying that his last contract had a clause in it that allowed him to leave if Rowley left.

We now have Leigh fans calling for Brian Noble, what a lot can happen in a day.

Couldn't give a to$$ about them that's why.

Another team from Wigan getting into SL isn't going to further our sport is it.

I can imagine the masses tuning in for that well known derby ....

I hope your lack of interest isn't connected to that other team from Wigan beating your team from Wigan on a regular basis is it.

No he hasn't.

TotalRL.com has said they understand that there "could" be a clause in his contract meaning that he can leave if Rowley isn't head coach.

Brierley hasn't said a thing and there is nothing to suggest that he either wants to leave or has made any moves to leave the club.

But that hasn't stopped the press from running with the headline "Brierley set to leave next!!"

Sloppy, sensationalist journalism and misleading headlines. Still, guess they have papers to sell so why let the facts get in the way of a good headline.

Would be a good job for an aspiring young coach wanting to make an impression. Someone like Lee Briers would be a decent option.

Can imagine Noble and Iestyn Harris being the front runners for it but that helmet Beaumont will probably through cash at a "big name"

Oh dear, so it has started already. I thought the implosion would only happen mid-season. Not looked into why Rowley has gone but im guessing someone i.e the chairman is telling him who to play. Can see most of those players the lobby gobblers have signed leaving as the season rolls on and add Brierley to that list. It's a crucial season for Leigh in terms of promotion and this could just stuff them up. Can see this only getting worse for them.

While intriguing (from reading various threads on the subject), its hardly worth having a rant because it didnt have its own thread on another clubs forum...

The sketch you are not familiar with was John Cleese , Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett describing their various social standing in life.

Peas, tinned peas was quite good to.
