This has been talked about for some time. The idea that we play on a dripping wet pitch with a ball like a bar of soap when it hasn't rained for a week or more is just ridiculous. Gildart isn't saying anything new.
It's something to do with the maintenance of the pitch and the deal with the ground contractor. Why they can't agree not to sprinkle the day of the game I don't know.
Does it affect the match, yes. Is it the answer to all our problems, certainly not.
