Something very much 'Mike Bassett' about Lam's coaching. I half expect our new signings to be Benson & Hedges next year.

Time to go. Which no doubt means a new two year deal.

I’d rather play with one of those dustbins in the pack than TT after watching him try and catch the ball today!

Tautai was comedy gold after Kane Linnett's bad injury leading to a long stoppage. He decided to work on his catching and passing with Sam Powell but alas to no avail as he went on to drop his next two passes in good positions and got hooked off. I wouldn't call him Wigans worst ever player because there's been some stinkers but he must be the worst player to have racked up well in excess of 100 games for the club.

No doubt him and Lam will get 2yr deals then.

Amazing that Tautai signed a THREE YEAR contract extension in 2017.

KR must have sleepless nights about that.

I thought that a couple of our lads for Swinton today could be in with a shout. Wells looked solid in poor conditions. Perhaps TT could go the other way to learn the basics.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

At least if you opened the lids they would be better at catching than Tautai.

Anyway, would they count on the cap? Asking for a friend.

I have huge hopes for Wells long term but he's said himself he doesn't want to rush anything and feels comfortable playing at Swinton currently. He actually sounded like he didn't feel he was ready physically for the first team yet and seemed a bit short of confidence in his interview on Wigan TV. It was all very honest stuff.

We're going nowhere this year and I've been saying for a while lets get safe and then have a look at some more youngsters. If Wells is better served at Swinton for the year then I'd be wanting to have more time to make judgments on kids like Byrne and Kibula. I also would like to have a look at Harry Smith, Roden, Havard and Rushton before the end of the year. It wouldnt be a case of playing them in long spells or more than one at a time but we have little more to gain from the year then to a few chances out and see if anyone looks ready to step up in the way that Morgan Smithies is.

I honestly think Lam will be our coach for 2020 and maybe even further years to come.

I'm more down about this that I was in 2006? (I think) when we were terrible and in a battle for survival. At least then the club put their hand in their pocket bring in Noble, Fielden and Dobson. At the time Fielden was one of the best forwards if not the best in the world, today that'll never happen.

I honestly would sack Lam now. Put whoever else in charge. I'd like the rest of the season to work out if the players are genuinely that poor, or if playing for Lam, in 'Lam's style' has made them so poor.

Sorry Mr Lam, but we all now need to move on.

I know mate, really don’t like bagging players but at this level you shouldn’t have to be so nervous watching someone take a simple hit up incase they make a mistake.

Surely someone like Tom Olbison would’ve been worth a punt for this season when Widnes went down. (Especially with our type of signings in recent times) There’s a few steady, solid forwards about like him and we are stuck with TT...
