I don't know - I was pleasantly surprised he easily outpaced Charnley despite having ball in hand. Handling as dodgy as ever though.

Charnley has also lost most of his speed. He had lost most of it in his last year at Wigan. IIRC he too suffered a bad injury and never had the same speed when he came back.

He just seems loathed to pin his ears back and was slowing down looking at the Warrington cover coming over. His confidence looks shot to pieces and it’s tough to know what to do with him.

I think I saw it differently to you lot. He wasn't getting caught from behind, not even close, he had several players coming across and he had chance of making the corner, it was the sensible option to come inside.

I thought he did ok on that run, as you say the cover was coming across but they two guys chasing him never looked like catching him. I wish he put some Bostick on his hands though

Yep, looking from the South Stand directly in line with him I could see those coming across had the angle on him, those chasing from behind were never going to get him.

Fail to remember any of those 3 taking a high ball 10 yards from their own line from a high kick and being chased by Josh charnley with the angle that he had on him with the game at that position I.e. he didn't need to risk going In touch on first tackle and 10mins left.

So if all 3 of them were in exactly the same situation last year and I've forgot then fair play.
Otherwise there really isnt evidence.

Had a decent game for me (and I'm not arguing that dom wouldn't get in in front of him etc).
But Marahall also could have cost us game from next play the ball. Last thing he should have done is run straight at the defenders who were back inside and then take an eternity to play the ball.
But Marshall had a good game despite that and his all round game is coming on very nicely.

Go back a year or so when everyone was saying we had too many Wingers and no-one would be saying Marshall would be the first pick, far from it. But he's worked hard at his game, and deserves everything he's got. Burgess needs to come good, he has the ability, but his current form is a worry.
