Or say what needs to be said in private to the clubs management and not on social media. He seems to play a few games to me but each to their own I suppose.

Does Hastings not have a point? I can see why players would be annoyed if the club are saying they can't afford to honour their contracted salaries whilst at the same time committing to pay a lot for Bateman.

He should be smarter about having fans on social media though. People have no boundaries about what they will try to find out and share. I hate how everyone now knows the ins and outs of Bateman's family situation, Flower's house plans, Escare's front garden to name a few that have come up on here in the last year or two!

Fully agree he’s got a point and fully agree he should be smarter about how he chooses to go about airing those grievances. You don’t have to be following him to see the comments. I’m not on twitter but can see comments. I came across the Gildart picture backing the potential Lenagan takeover of Latics and stumbled across these comments. I found it unprofessional considering that they’d be in full view of anybody and seeing as they’ve been removed, it would seem he’s had second thoughts himself.

I just think it’s seems to be the latest snide comment/dig at the club/town that he’s made and if he’s got issues he should be sorting them out behind the scenes. When people were calling for comment from him around the time of the rumours he wasn’t coming, he wasn’t prepared to make any (which is fair enough) but he then puts things like that on for people to see. I just think you can sense why he’s had issues in the past.

He’s been trying to move back to Aus next season all year and this situation will be the get out card he uses. His snidy little comments about Wigan and tweets about full pay etc then deleting them shows disrespect to us and if he doesn’t want to be here send him packing. I’ve gotten fed up of his fairytale reborn act when it’s quite clear why he was kicked out of Australia.

I've also kept fairly quiet about JH but if that's the sort of stuff he's up to and he thinks acceptable then i'll be glad to see the back of him - though I've fully expected to see the back of him, at the end of 2020, since the day he signed.

A leopard can't change its spots and all that.
Get him announced as leaving. He clearly is. Good riddance if this is his attitude to WRL.

I’d have had less of an issue with it had he been brave enough to just put the comments out there on his own profiles, rather than commenting on pictures posted by another player. The way he did it drags Gildart in to something he’s not asked to be involved in. Gildart is a Wigan lad, seems happy to be here and seems to have been nothing but a decent lad in his time with the club and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was he who asked for the comments to be removed. A comment like ‘why don’t you tell them what you really think’ suggests they’ve spoke in ‘Private’ behind the scenes and I’d be pretty miffed if I were Gildart that he’s being potentially thrown under a bus. If Hastings wanted somebody to say what they thought, then why not just do it himself?

There just seems to have been an unnecessary amount of game playing since he’s been here to me. Get to the end of the year, hopefully win something and part ways and I think that’ll be the best for everyone.
