Wigan Today reporting that the club's average attendances have increased to 14,909 (up nearly 1,500) on last season. I think a lot of focus has been to bring in more youngsters over the last couple of seasons, whether that be through Rugby Camps, Amateur Clubs, Community...etc (as seen these last few games with a good few hundred kids on the pitch as the teams walk out, holding the club flag badges). Great idea as I'm sure it was calculated a few years ago that Wigan had the oldest average fanbase.
2024 - 14,909 2023 - 13,494 2022 - 12,278 2021 - 8,536 (impacted by the pandemic, with some games behind closed doors and limited attendances) 2020 - N/A 2019 - 11,700 2018 - 11,708 2017 - 13,189 (including Super 8s) 2016 - 13,499 (including Super 8s) 2015 - 13,911 (including Super 8s) 2014 - 14,101

Hopefully we'll get a decent turnout for the semi-final, it should in theory be way above the above average but this fixture always seems to be a hard sell

Just looked at the ticket sales and if the map can be believed it looks like we have sold more than 10k to date.

That average is really pleasing to see, particularly with the lower levels of away supporters seen at the games this year. Whilst it clearly shows a rise year on year, I wonder whether the same can be said about season tickets, where the number sold each year seems a very closely guarded secret.
Just had a look, there's barely a couple of thousand been sold, games a long while off yet but like I said this fixture is a really hard sell
Some are probably waiting until they get paid like me.
A lot of others are probably waiting to see who we play before they decide. Not that it should matter for a Semi Final, but i think we all know that it will.
There would be a clear difference in home attendance between Wigan vs Saints, then Wigan vs Wire, then Wigan vs anybody else.

I've been told this afternoon by someone at the club that we've sold just under 6k tickets so far. Looking at the ticket site though that number seems a bit of a stretch to be honest.
