I don't think Hatton would have seen the 5th round if Senchenko had a decent punch. Good body blow by the Ukrainian though.

He came back against a good fighter rather than having a walkover so hats of to him BUT that is surely the end now. There are much better fighters than Senchenko so Hatton has no future now.

Should phone up Mickey Rourke and see if he can get a gig in Hollywood with Calzaghe and Mason.

Re: Boxing PART II : Sun Nov 25, 2012 12:20 pm
the ring rust was there for all to see, swinging wildly and missing by a mile on many occasions...

never been impressive at welterweight either, just not strong enough at the weight, senchenko was just too tall and strong

felt sorry for hatton... actually thought he was going to get back up and finish the round..but was close on the judges cards anyway and that knockdown may of swung it to senchenko.

but we now know for sure that is it..after the fight it sounded like he was going to think about things and try again because he thought he was winning but soon after he confirmed he hasnt got it anymore and retired.

mallinaggi will be gutted,he would of liked another big pay day!

Temptation, greets you like your naughty mate,
The one that used to get you in bother,
But one that you could never bring yourself to hate.

Re: Boxing PART II : Sun Nov 25, 2012 7:09 pm
TBH I lost a lot of respect for Hatton after the Mayweather fight. It wasn't the blaming of the referee, it was the way he went into 'people's champ overdrive' mode. Coming out in the fat suit and that God awful Hi-HO Ricky Hatton song. It's been playing in my head since last night.

They say he's never seen a salad, that's why he's fat,
(can't remember this bit!!), and he'll drink to that.

Who the hell commissioned that poop?

I remember all the highs, from the Pep fight, to me stood watching the Tackie fight, throwing every punch with him. The Tsyzu night was best of all. But as soon as the Fat suit came out at the Etihad for the Lazcano fight :?

Was really sad to see last night, but I do agree with some people, Hatton has been me, me, me for a while now. What about his girlfriend and son? Not a nice word for Senchenko in the press conference last night.

I just hope he realises that there's more to life than winning or losing a boxing match.

The worst thing about Ricky Hatton, or anyone who does this for that matter, is when he talks in the third person. "Maybe its time that Ricky Hatton gave Ricky Hatton a good talking too about what Ricky Hatton is gonna do to Ricky Hatton if he doesn't listen to Ricky Hatton when Ricky Hatton is talkin in the third person to him (Ricky Hatton)"

Considering he has been boxing for 20 plus years can you blame him for having to constantly remind himself of what his name is.

I think had Hatton got a fairer crack from Cortez during the Mayweather fight, he would have probably accepted that defeat a little easier because Roger Mayweather purposefully called Hatton a dirty fighter before the fight and from round one, Cortez was breaking things up when there was no need to. I still think Mayweather would have come out on top though because he is one of the best defensive fighters of all time.

The Pacquiao knock-out is the fight is the one that really has done for him mentally though, because as 140lb Champion at the time, he rightly expected to walk through a fighter who's natural fighting weight is probably around 130lbs, but judging by experts such as Victor Conte's comments over the last few years (as well as fighters such as Malignaggi), it's pretty obvious Pacquiao has been juicing since he moved up to fight Diaz @ 135lbs a year before the Hatton fight.

At least Hatton got those fights out of his system some what and can now retire with a sense of peace hopefully.

Anyway, I'm now more excited about what may lay ahead for Kell Brook in the new year because he'll wipe the floor with Alexander for the IBF belt and then the world would be his oyster - he's already ranked number 3 behind Mayweather and Pacquiao on Ring Magazine's Welterweight rankings so things are looking good for him...

exciting times for kell brook, will be a real test against alexander though this time...will see how he goes before saying hes going to be the next boxing king
