I would be interested to know which of the other clubs are voting no because the old Rangers owed them money they'll never see.

I think we can agree on that

but I know i'm a bit thick but isn't it in the interests of the other SPL members to help Rangers in order to help themselves ? isn't the SPL stronger with them rather than without ?

that's the bit I don't understand - it's like all the other SL teams voting to kick out Bradford !

It's a great chance for most SPL clubs to start certain things afresh with regards to how they are run which will ultimately benefit them.

SPL clubs shouldn't be running a club based on the fact a couple of other clubs bring a lot of fans to the ground in the first place. For example, while a lot of it was scarmongering from a Rangers supporting Motherwell director, they were saying how they, the 3rd placed team and potential champions' league team, may go into admin if Rangers aren't in the league. That's just not healthy from a number of angles and if that's the way Scottish football is then they should just pack it all in at every club.

Hopefully a few extra fans will come out now in support of their teams, a view glory-hunting rangers fans can support their local team and all the clubs run to their own fan base in a more competetive league. Celtic may still run away with it for a while but they'll lose a bit of money from things like TV and hopefully they'll be keeping eyes on running costs and the like and try to balance the books more if they're not getting into europe etc thus dropping their standard. Who knows, maybe this could be the start of the SPL being won by another team other than the Old Firm. It may take a few years but we're already in a position where the fans are looking forward to next season more because rangers aren't there.

as a non Rangers fan but football fan in general :

it seems a totally negative approach if the object is to improve the quality of football only see the overall level of scottish football drop even further - it's tedious enough as it is !
The overall quality is pretty bad, about up to the old english bottom second division / top of third division levels - it's a boring league full of boring teams made up of second rate scottish players (all the best are 'glory hunting' in England) and very mediocre foreign imports

the only reason other clubs are looking forward to is so that they may be able to scramble into second place - UEFA should make the second placed team qualify for the Europa League !

Unfortunately it seems that the SPL are doing all they can to ensure NewHun get a spot in SFL1 rather than being forced to apply for a place in SFL3.

This link is quite simply disgusting reading and shows up the smokescreen that the authorities have tried to create. Rangers have cheated their way to countless trophies over the last 15-20 years, not to mention cheating the country of millions of pounds of tax revenue, and to me it is stunning that anything other than, at best, an application to SFL3 is being considered.

I love supporting Hibs. I love the trip up. I love the chance to visit a city as beautiful as Edinburgh every few weeks. I love visiting the other SPL grounds. I love being a part of the club, of the fanbase, of a culture that stretches back to 1875. When the statement was released that we would be voting 'no' to the NewCo entering the SPL, I was so proud that we were to make a stand to maintain, as Rod Petrie put it, "sporting integrity". But if the NewCo are allowed to completely bypass the Second and Third Divisions, all in the name of commercialism and greed on the part of the SPL, the SFA, the SFL and it's member clubs then I'm gutted to say that I will not be back for another game. It absolutely breaks my heart, but what's the point in supporting a club and competition that endorses cheating that is beyond all comprehension?

A purple patch inspired on his home ground by man of the match WIGAN CAPTAIN Sean O’Loughlin produced three tries in an eight-minute spell just before half-time, and the GB Lions added two more after the break to maintain Smith’s 100 per cent record as Great Britain
coach.

Sat 27th April 2002 St Helens 12 Wigan 21 Edinburgh - Sat 4th May 2002 Celtic 2 Rangers 3 Glasgow (Carlsberg dont do weeks, but if they did.....)

Rod Petrie?? Sporting integrity?

Where do i start?
(a) you DONT support Hibs because if you did then such a lowlife action like not going back wouldnt cross your mind
(b) Rangers troubles have been caused by the actions of 3 or 4 individuals that should be jailed

And (c) i for one agree that the newco should start in the 3rd division!!

Lost all respect for you Matt coming on a forum and spouting complete pish, being a Hibs fan suits you... you fit in very very well.

1875 Hibs a Newco too Matt ?

Mr Gray and Mr Duff were not exactly lilly white Matt . One of which spent some time at the tax payers expense thru deeds done at ?

Matt , If you are happy that Hibs have shown "Sporting Integrity" (as have the majority of other SPL clubs 10:1) the withdrawal of your support for Hibernian only hurts 2 , you and the club you support .

Rangers should start Div 3 next season (only if accepted) everybody knows that but a boycott will not change the greed of others .

Cheers Matt , EW

PS . with the team we ( Jambo's ) will put out next season now's your chance
