Decent enough return over the festive season (first half against Hereford apart). Bit of a shame we haven't been able to sort out a fixture for the weekend to keep some of the momentum going.
Anyone who went yesterday care to comment on Colbeck - has the time out on loan done him some good or is he still all effort and no product?
Seems to have done him the world of good! I thought he was our MOM to be honest. Scared them to death when he ran at them and helped out a lot more when they had possession especially after they made a triple substitution and it looked like the fresh legs might tell. Some of the City fans have more faces than the Town Hall clock though. They were singing 'There's only one Joe Colbeck' at the end. Plenty of these will be the same idiots who were spitting bile at him at the Chesterfield game at the end of last season.
I'd love to see him do well. He's got pace to burn and he's not short of a trick or too either. But that final ball is unbelievably frustrating. The second half v Hereford was a fine example. But as Stuart has said himself, he frustrates himself more than anything, so at least he's working on it. Good luck to him, always good to see a youth player go well.
Hope Rotherham can reel them in, and Franchise FC have a total wobble and somehow miss out on promotion altogether, not going to happen though!!
Those who had silly thoughts about us going on a storming run and making the play-offs surely must see sense after us only drawing with Wrexham today!
I can't for the life of me understand why Eddie Johnson was brought back into the midfield, he's totally anonymous every time I see him and Paul Evans, although not playing brilliantly, has assisted a few goals from set-pieces in recent weeks.

Don't follow city that much myself, but like to see them do well, and I go to the odd game now and again. What I don't understand Is why SM changed an unbeaten team around?, unless there was injuries? then I understand. Most of my mates support Bradford City, some of them at the start of the season where being very un-realistic saying they are going to get automatic. However the more realistic ones thought that a push for the play-offs would be the best they would get this year out of the team.
Not following city that much myself, but i really do think that they should be fighting for a play-off spot next year. And if they recruit well then they will get this, if luck is on there side now and again. The thing about city is that they need a good unbeaten run behind them, and they look a decent team.

Peter Thorne was injured, so there had to be a little re-jig, I don't understand leaving Evans out though - certainly not for Johnson.

I think SM has come to grips more with this division as the season went on, so we have to be looking at challenging near the top this season, I agree it was unrealistic to expect too much this season, given what has gone on over the last few years, it's been a while since we lost to anyone other than teams in the top 6 and I do think the signs are encouraging, keeping up the current unbeaten run, and looking strong towards the end of the season, are essential IMO if crowd levels, and enough income to allow a challenge, are to remain strong next season.
How is Bullock going for city?, my last game was Lincoln at home so im yet to see him play as of yet. At the Lincoln game there was a partnership of Evans and Nix in centre midfield, they seemed to get the ball down on the floor and pass it around and when city had the ball they looked good. A lot of League 2 teams don't do this, well the games I have been too they haven't. But that isn't that many. Anyway Nix looked really good in centre midfield driving the team forward at times, but him and Evans did seem a bit light weight and were loosing the battle in the middle of the park sometimes.
How is Nix doing now?, has he had much game time?.
