I will be interested in learning where you picked up this inside knowledge of Johnson's coaching style.
As I believe he has never coached anybody, don't you think you are doing him a great diservice?
As the most influential and dynamic leader England have ever had on the field, surely he deserves for us to wait a period before we pass judgement.
It is not he who will be doing the coaching anyway.

He's a forward.

Show me one British forward who has moved into coaching and is renowned for an attractive, expansive style of play.

As I understand it his principal role will be management, not coaching, so his playing position is irrelevant surely?

Ashton was Head Coach.
The stucture has now been changed with the introduction of Johnson and Rob Andrew

Oh that changes everything - if Rob Andrew is coaching a team in his own image, then England will be bristling with flair and expansive back play.
