I seen that in the gossip column. You won't get him for £12m like was rumoured. We bid for him a few years back before he was established at Juve IIRC, and I'm pretty sure Sven nearly signed him at City. IMO, he's the best defender in Serie A. Not the most mobile but strong, shows excellent leadership qualities and is an absolute wall on his day. Would certainly add leadership and strength to the backline, as well as the uncompromising style of Vidic. He'd compliment Rio well, but Rio is getting older so surely Fergie should be looking to add a quicker, more mobile defender to the ranks, unless there's already one coming through?

Where's Vidic meant to be going?

Vidic is rumoured to be off to Madrid for £25m. It seems like all paper talk, because I can't see us getting a top defender for £12m, especially when City are chasing him as well, although getting someone £13m cheaper than what we're selling seems ideal for Glazer.

I think Fergie honestly believes Evans will be able to make it at United, as long as he has a Rio/Vidic type person around him, when he looks a lot more comfortable. We've been linked with Gary Cahill for a while too. He'll be a cheaper option so therefore more likely for us to sign.

Tell me about it.

If it hadn't have been for Nani yesterday we would have been screwed. Best player on the field by a mile and a half. Scholes controlled the midfield when he was on too.

Just a shame our front men wasted so many opportunites, it could've finished 9 or 10.

So glad to see Rio back, for the first time in weeks I saw our defence talking to each other. I couldn't believe it, with a bit of talking, our defence actually looked half decent. Just a shame he didn't hit that little prick a little bit harder.

Good to see the media picking up on the green/gold, some decent protests from what I heard. Carrington looks set to have a colourful entrance on Monday morning.

Thought Nani had his best game for the club yesterday but lets hope the penny has finally dropped and it wasn't just a one off performance.

In a game like yesterday when we knew we'd have most of the ball what was the point in playing Park? he just offers nothing going forward. I rememeber Fergie saying Park is the type of player you want in the team when you don't have the ball, well how many games do we play where we get dominated possession wise? Parks work rate comes in usfull against the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal but come on it was Hull at Old Trafford.

Owens confidence looks shot at the minute he just can't seem to hit the ball clean. Maybe he could do with a bit of a run in the reserves but he doesn't even get risked in that team.

Any truth in the rumours that Fergie now has £120m to spend from the bond issue? But will wait untill the summer

“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

Loving this from Stoke, for some reason I really hate Arsenal of late and I'm glad a dirty side like Stoke have beaten them.
