How can I miss you, if you won't go away????

Re: SUPER ENGLAND ASHES TOUR : Fri Nov 26, 2010 5:19 pm
A decent display by England's bowler's, though I'm perplexed by our desire to get Hussey back into form??

The guy plays like he has only 1 shot (the pull), so what do our bowlers continually do to him??...Yes, bowl some lovely, juicy half trackers, giving him ample chance to build up his frail confidence with cheap runs.

We need him out quickly as he is the type of player who will easily nurse the Aussie tail up to 400+.

Really big session this one, in fact I'll go as far as saying it will make or break the test.

Break this partnership early and get stuck into the tail and we'll be in a great position, if these two stay in and start piling on some runs then it could quickly run away from us, got a plane to catch at 10am so I probably shouldn't pull another all-nighter.....

Hussey survives review...... Could be vital.

Hate the review system.

I don't think i've ever seen England work the system well or come out on the right end of the decisions.

That Hussey not out then is the right call but when your having to use computer graphics to determine if a balls pitched inline it goes too far for me. In rugby league the video ref works because your see real life pictures that are just slowed down from different angles where with hawk eye it's a make belief image.

Scrap it I say and let good umpires like Alam Dar do his stuff.

Probably a bit of English bias here, but I tend to agree.....That Hussey call was extremely marginal and easy to see why the umpire would give it. I'm all for technology ridding the game of truly shocking decisions, but that one was not a shocker.

This has been the most frustrating 30 mins of cricket i've seen in a long while.

England have bowled superbly well with no reward.

Hussey out for all money but we had no reviews left.

I personally think that if you have the review system it should be the umpire who decides to go to it if he thinks a call is marginal. Having to pick and choose which calls you want to review isn't the point of the system in my eyes. The system should be there to get the correct decision at all times, like it is in our game. Not just on the whim of a captain.

Agreed.....and the review system definitely needs looking at. A definite lbw turned down, no reviews left.....It's stupid, if its out then its out, none of this silly limit to the amount of appeals.....It should be up to the on-field umpire to call for the review as happens in RL....I'm sure with decisions as close as Hussey has survived this morning, the umpire would appreciate some help from upstairs anyway.
