I'm afraid that's what happens when you have a club that is riddled with arrogance and big egos from top to bottom.
All that money, yet Roman doesn't possess an ounce of class or even a speck of a football brain. To make things worse, he surrounds himself with people who know little about football and make terrible decisions like driving the Special One from the club, which was clearly a ridiculous decision.
Tell me the football club that isn't riddled with arrogance and big egos.
It doesn't ****ing exist.
I think getting rid of Mourihno was the dumbest decision in football history. You agree that is was a ridiculous decision. But half of England think that anyone could have done what Mourinho did with the money he had at his disposal.
Arnesen and Bobby ****ing Campbell do know about football. I can't really blame Abramovich if the respected Arnesen and the much less respected Campbell talked 5 hit and made him believe his money was the important factor and not Jose Mourinho. Of course Abramovich would want to believe that he was the main reason for Chelsea's success, and not Jose.
Johnny Heitinga on Ashley Cole as he walked up for the penalty. Pure, unbridaled brilliance. The type of trick you pulled against St Cuthbert's when you were 12. Cole's 'what the hell' reaction was priceless, as was his attempt at a penalty.
Have to ask questions about Chelsea. Like Liverpool 12 months ago they just look like sulking egotistical mercenaries who are letting their manager and the fans down. Did Nicolas Anelka want to take that penalty? No. He simply couldn't be bothered with it.

You can have all the footballing knowledge in the world, but if your boss is paying you $h!tloads to lick his backside and buff up his ego on a regular basis, then common sense will inevitably go out of the window.
Ultimately, whilst Abramovich's ego-driven money splurges have contributed massively to Chelsea's successes, so that same ego has contributed in a huge way to Chelsea's present predicaments.
If Abramovich was a true Chelsea fan, he would leave the running of the club to intellegent footballing brains, but instead, because Chelsea are merely a toy to him, he continues to tinker in things he has no knowledge of, and this will drag Chelsea further into mediocrity.
When Drogba and Lampard were out Anelka took a few penalties. He took them like that. He scored. He looks like he's got balls of titanium.
He misses, like he did today and in Moscow. And he just looks like an utter ******* ****. I just don't know why he does it like that.
I thought we played pretty well today. By far deserved to win the game. It was only our final execution which let us down. Lamps would have had two or three most games.
The small things pi55 me off about Ancelotti. Bringing every player back for corners and free kicks. Not putting men on the posts for the last free kick. His complete lack of character when things aren't going well.
Against Sunderland you could see the spirit and hard work that we need to put in every week. But I just don't think we have that mentality any more. We start off okay, the movement and passing seems really good, but if it's not instantly successful we just don't seem to have the strength to just do the hard work and win.

Mourinho was the right man for Chelsea. Kenyon, even though he was a ****, was the right man to run the club.
Kenyon did not want Mourinho out of CFC. He knew the importance of Mourinho, and he made it clear CFC were making a mistake.
Grant should have never been employed by CFC. That was a mistake - quickly rectified.
Scolari should have worked. He wasn't working. Abramovich did the correct thing in getting rid when he did. Hiddink was a brilliant capture. I don't think there's anyone who wouldn't have wanted him to be our manager right now. But political problems with him being Russia manager meant it wasn't going to happen. I think the timing was wrong for him to come back. I'd have Hiddink back tomorrow.
Ancelotti, like Scolari, should be able to perform so much better than he is.
We need a manager who can manage this side. They can work like champions, they can be champions, be they can also be utter *****. They just need a Hiddink or Mourinho to force them to be champions. The only problem is that there simply aren't that many Hiddink's or Mourinho's knocking around.
I only hope that Real are as dumb as we were and get rid if he doesn't win the league or CL this season.
I do think we are a perfect example of how money isn't everything when it comes to winning things. Without the right man in charge, you can easily spend £500m and end up winning nothing.

I agree with some of what you are saying, but one of the main problems is that Abramovich seems to have the patience of a 7 year old child waiting for Santa on Xmas Eve....
For Christ's sake, he gave Scolari all of 6 months!!!......Now, I know this is old ground, but surely clubs like yourself should look at Man Utd as an example of how to go about getting consistancy of performance in your club, and it isn't by sacking your manager every time things go a bit awry?
The funny thing is, if Ferguson was the Chelsea boss and producing some of the seasons he has had at Old Trafford during the last 10 years, he'd have been fired half a dozen times!!
Whilst it seems that Ancellotti is pretty much doomed, unless he miraculously pulls a Champions League out of the hat, people shouldn't forget that this is a guy who only last season got the club a domestic double!!.....Can you imagine if United had fired Fergie at the end of the trophyless 1994/95 season, just a year after a runaway double??....
Much has been made of United's patience with Fergie in his early years, but he was fairly fortunate in that there was a dearth of decent managers about in the late 80's. And of course it was before foreign managers had become established in England. Who would they have replaced him with in say 89/90 when the finished mid table? Probably Graham Taylor?
One of the problems that PL managers face these days is that their is far more competition for their jobs.
Scolari was never the right man for Chelsea. There is more to football management than a CV, which is why I don't really look too much into things like statistics and all that jazz. The varying styles and cultures of just about every single aspect of football - both coaching and playing - means clubs should do more than just look at the CV. If Chelsea had looked into detail at Scolari, they would have seen a coach who was tactically average, a manager that was very much 'old school' and a manager that had relied on things like religion to motivate players. (Particularly his WC winning side) He had a great CV, but for a modern giant that had been built on defensive solidity and 'power', he was never the right coach. Never.
Ancelotti is sort of the right coach; however, Chelsea need to start a rebuildind process, a new 'cycle', if you will. I don't think they can be expected to win trophies if they are to go through this phase within the next year or two. There are quite a few players who will gradually begin to draw the curtain on their career, but I don't see who will replace them yet, or, at least I don't see them being rotated enough to consistently perform at their top level. It seems some of them are just being played through indifferent form. If you compare them to Spurs, they seem to have everything going their way, they have a decent average age through the core of their squad, the players that are coming in are doing well and they're getting results. I know they finished in the top 4 last year, but I still think Chelsea will churn out the results when it matters, particularly if Spurs go far in Europe.
