It's looking like a strong Wrestlemania card this year, alot stronger than recent years. HHH v Orton, Edge v Cena and Taker v HBK could be three superb 'main event' matches. Add in Hardy v Hardy and a MITB and you have 5 very good matches.

Whilst WM is around the corner, what's everyones favourite matches and build ups to WM? Mine is the Austin/Rock WM 17 build up. It captured everything that the build up should capture and the match was superb, except for the ending (although probably necessary due to the Rock's movie).

Austin's respective build ups to WM 13 and 14; his feuds with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were awesome IMO. If Austin 3:16 was born at KOTR 1996, then the I Quit match with Hart was when it came of age.
The general build up for the entire WM 14 card was the best ever for me; every match had great heat surrounding it, which added a lot of spice to a generally strong card as it was.
A noteable mention also for WM 10, and Bret-Owen.

i think they really need to do some big pushing now to get some oomf behind some of the other feuds, orton/hunter will sort itself out next week, without exploding.

They need to get into overdrive on the undertaker match, with that i reckon they should've blown off the jbl feud at the rumble(in hindsight) to give a slow burn build up.

Likewise with the hardy's feud, there was the incident at the rumble, jeff's been off tv for no reason since then(due to a chair shot) and they've done bugger all with matt other than have shane helms get loved, without it even leading into a match at NWO. TBH i was kinda expecting matt to get involved with the elimination chamber match and screw jeff over again,

A lot of work to be done.

i'd like to see miz and morrison in a worthwhile match as well, chances are one or both will be in mitb but it would be nice to give them an opportunity to dick about and act dumb as love.

I wouldn't mind their current feud with Carlito and Primo ending at Wrestlemania. There would have to be some kind of stipulation though, like a winners take all title match, since they have already had a few matches in the last month or so. I don't think there is any real need for 2 pairs of tag titles anyway now since Miz and Morrison spend most of their time on smackdown.

Wrestlemania 13 and 14 were at the start of the WWFs golden years. They had some strong and intense storylines which resulted in some great matches, such as Austin v Dude Love, Michaels v Undertaker (Hell in a Cell) and The Rock v Mankind. I doubt that the WWE will ever be this good again.
