Interesting and perhaps disturbing to see the Premier League's best left back, Leighton Baines, linked with Manchester United in the press again this morning.
United know Everton are not really in a position to argue with bids coming in for players. The papers say Moyes will pocket £12-15m, spend a combined £4m on Steven Pienaar and Keiran Richardson and give the rest to the banks. The first question I have is who would play left back if that were the case? And secondly, what's the point of buying Pienaar back if Baines isn't going to be there. Baines wasn't anywhere near as effective without Stevie P, so there is a big risk that it would be the same the other way round. And why Everton would sign Richardson when he'd play in the same position as Pienaar is beyond me, especially as we've only got one real striker in the squad in Jelavic.
