FSG are a private limited company not a plc.

Not sure on these Louis van Gaal rumours. If you're to appoint somebody in a scouting/signing role, they shouldn't want to be involved in coaching, tactics etc. Picking a man who's managed throughout his career is very dodgy ground, assuming he will be signing players. The key to making any 'structure' work is transparency and people accepting their roles, is LVG really the type of person who would fit into that kind of structure? He's had a great career, but I don't think he's the right man.

Its a joke. Who does that really punish??....Barton or his club??.....I'd say his club.

For Barton, and for most mercenary footballers, it will be just the opportunity to have an extended summer break, which will make only a minute dent in his wallet.

For QPR, its a massive loss for a team who will need all its playing staff available for the maximum time.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have received a suspension, but the fine should be where these players are being hurt most.....Most modern day players really don't give a damn about whether they are actually playing or not.

It isn't just that they've decided to smack him with a 12 game ban because he's such a megaprick though. They have simply punished him for each offence he committed. He committed 3 red card offences in quick succession, so that's how he got 12 matches.

I think the FA have got it spot on, and you are completely wrong.

And if QPR are also punished, which I agree they are, then it's their own fault for signing the loon in the first place.

Completely agree with this.

With his past record and history they took a gamble and gave him a chance. In their benefit they got a decent player without a transfer fee.

The gamble has now back fired and they've lost their captain for a third of the season.

The FA got the suspension spot on...... Especially after his comments on Twitter after the match. He showed no remorse or regret at all.
