Still can't see a better way of resolving a game unless he goes to replays. Guy on Radio Five suggested having penalties at the end of extra time in a sudden death format. The team that wins the penalties has a half goal advantage that is considered if the score remains level at full time. Ludicrous idea given the disruption to the game and the fact that there's no guarantee that the team which has played better will be going into EXT with an advantage.

Perhaps Blatter should address the issue of goal line technology first seeing as that's warping its core being even more.

Someone just needs to mention to Sepp Blatter that if penalties are scrapped England might actually win something. Immediate U-turn.

After extra time they should give the cup to the team with the most possession, shots, shots on target etc etc. Might stop teams getting a pasting and hanging on for dear life only to win on pens.

What if they're the same?

Maybe we should have an ice hockey-esque shootout, where the players have to dribble the ball from the halfway line and score - or score from outside of the box. It would certainly stop things like Bayern sending Neuer in third.

To be honest, there's no real way to decide a game fairly. Golden goal was fairer than a shootout IMO, purely because the game was at least being decided by a goal in open play.

Maybe we should go to a judges scorecard like boxing; the British will be able to come up with even more conspiracy theories.
