better than Bale ?

By a mile.

Bale's best form was pre-Christmas and has hardly played in the last month. You did realise I said the 'last two or three months'?

Bale has not even been the best winger in the PL this season. Nani has been better. I would also argue that Nasri is a wide-player and he too has been better than Bale.

Bale had an excellent spell in Sept-Nov but he has been shackled by most defences since then. I understnd why people may think he is amazing - his performances against Inter are talked about on a daily basis in the media.

he doesn't pretend to be a winger and to compare him with Nani is ridiculous - 'Arry wants him as an attacking midfielder not forgetting he was signed for that purpose
Nasri is a fine player but is in a different class to Bale when both are on the top of their game - Nasri,as good as he is,doesn't have that extra pace & trickery of Bale.
Bale reminds me of Terry Cooper who originally joined leeds as a winger then turned fb/attacking midfielder - he was awesome and Bale is the closest british player I have seen to Cooper.

Bale is embarrassingly overrated IMO. He had two fantastic games against Inter and people seriously said he was the world's best player. Laughable.

Bale is good, but doesn't have the all round game yet. What questions does Bale ask of a defence that is packed and tight? It's all very well and good bursting into space on the counter, but he doesn't have all of the technical attributes to worry sides. Furthermore, he hasn't been used on the right so much because he doesn't have that aspect to his game, another thing he'll need if he is to be amongst the best: goals. Look at Robben, moved to the right and he's the most one footed player ever ever, but he's truly unstoppable at cutting in. When Bale matures, he too will develop this ability, but for now, he is just a dangerous counterattacking player that had a bright group stages in the tampons league.

As EE said, I'd probably say Nasri and Nani have been better. Forget the pedantry over roles/style, they all occupy the wide areas in their varying ways. They have been better than Bale this year, whilst Lennon for Spurs hasn't been too shoddy, either.

I don't think Nasri has been that great outwide. Nasri's form has suffered since Cesc has been back. Almost unplayable in the middle. I think VDV is spurs most important player.

It's taken me 24 hours near enough to be able to write properly after watching that from Everton. Unbelievably bad. They must have had 70% possession but only created one chance. I've defended Moyes in the past but that was pretty inexcusable, starting with 1 up front against a Championship side at home says it all about his faith in the players.

And quite what the club is doing letting Jermaine Beckford commute from a distance where is able to be delayed by traffic is beyond me. It's a Sunday league excuse, not something you can accept from a Premier League player.

One or two more wins in order to achieve safety and this season is well and truly over. The last chance of European football is gone now. Fellaini's injury will make it hard to get those wins needed to stay up but it might also mean he isn't instantly bought in the summer.

Delphs not a left back or even prem quality. No wonder Man City are cutting Villa to ribbons down that side. It will be McAllisters influence he's playing as he managed him at Leeds

I know you're close to the drop, but I don't think you really need to worry.

Eh? Redknapp constanlty bleats about wanting to play Bale at left back and that's where he seems him playing in the next few years.

PM me your address and I'll send you a cigar. Absolutely spot on.

It made me laugh when I checked the odds for PFA Player of the Year some time in Januray and Bale was the favourite by a long way with Nasri in second at odds of about 7/1. Completely stupid in my opinion. Bale's best performances have come in the CL, he hasn't produced anywhere near that level of performance in the PL. Fine, award him the CL Midfielder of the Year or whatever it's called but PFA Player of the Year? Not a chance.

Assou Ekotto is left back and Bale is an attacking midfielder - as for the future,Mr Levy will make sure Bale is long gone in the not too distant future - he is not part of 'Arrys long term plans unfortunately....
