What is the point of Ian Bell ?
56 runs in five innings

Given he was always going to miss the second Test, it would have been better to give him the whole series off. Played the first like he wasn't really there and has done knacker all since coming back.

He's one of them players Bell who you criticise and criticise and then he hits a match winning century.

i Will remind you of your post after his next innings. So far he has been worse than useless.

Agreed. What's frustrating, though, is seeing someone of obvious class flailing around so much.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

I'm not a fan of knee jerk team selections and dropping players after only a few tests, so England's recent policy of giving players plenty of time to prove themselves, such as Bell, as mainly been a good one.

However, the likes of Morgan, Bairstow, Taylor and Patel must be wondering why they haven't received the same treatment that Bell has over the years?

Yes, I agree that Bell looks classy technically, but he's more and more beginning to look like a Hick or a Ramprakash, who were also players who looked world-class when on top of their game, but who, generally, never had the mental toughness for test cricket.
