Can someone explain to me in this day and age ..why goalkeepers dive for imaginary penalties?
I know that they think.......''well it's fifty-fifty' and I've watched this guy on video...but why??
I have long been an advocate of 'stand up and see where the ball is going first'
Modern penalty takers know that goalies just dive for the sake of it so often stick it down the middle.
I was telling the Ghana goalkeeper to just stand there, but he wouldn't listen. He would have saved at least two..instead he saved none.
That should be good for someone lecturing on the theory of penalties and probabilities.
What the heck. I knew Ghana would fook up.
I'll supply my own answer:-
Because if he stands there and the ball goes to the side of him out of reach...he won't save it.
