I don't think it was worth a second yellow card either but I can see why he gave it - he believes,like me that RVP heard the whistle and carried on and the subsequent shot was enough to sway the ref - RVP should have known better - this is the CL and refs are inconsistent - he's a pro and should know that.
Otherwise I thought the ref did ok apart from the ludicrous decision at the beginning not to give at least a free kick on the edge of the Gooners' box - it was a blatant free kick to Barça which some may have given as a penalty.

It's difficult to have a pop at the ref for not giving penalties when players are flinging themselves to the ground whenever there's a bit of contact. There were several instances last night of Barca players doing the ole Platoon routine and I'd rather a ref get it wrong and not give it because of that than be conned by a dive.

Arsenal just don't have any engines in midfield and that was obvious last night. They needed some big black guy with muscle in there who isn't afraid to put himself about. Essien and De Jong wouldn't have stood for all that fannying around with the ball. Get stuck in you French poofs.

0.39 seconds between the end of the whistle and RVP kicking the ball. The red was a farce.

It's possible that RVP heard the whistle and did shoot knowing the whistle had gone. But seeing there's absolutely no way that you'd be able to tell it was a ridiculous card to give.

I hate Arsenal more than most people, but even if that decision was against Liverpool I'd still think it was ludicrous. It doesn't make you a better Spurs fan to be so biased against Arsenal that you cannot even give fair judgement against an Arsenal player.

If you're referring to me,then you're talking absolute c**p - look back on page 135 and you will see I made the following statement

"Am I the only Spurs fan who want to see the Gooners win tonight ? Get rid of Barça and the cup is there for the taking IMO."

I have a great respect for the Gooners which is bucking the trend I know as a Spurs fan,but I do respect ANY team who tries to play the 'right way' and it's difficult not to admire Ar****le Wenger and his boys when it comes to ability and creativity.

The RVP decision was unjust but I can see why the ref gave it - when you've been following football as long as I have you know that anything is possible with referees !

You wanted Barca out of the cup and then the Champions League would have been there for the taking. You're clearly deluded. Even if Barca were knocked out there'll still be 5 sides in who'd be massive favourites over Spurs to win the comp. And that's if you manage to knock out AC Milan tonight.

Spurs have been excellent in their first CL. Even if Spurs go out tonight this CL campaign has been an overwhelming success for Spurs and Redknapp. But to talk of the cup being there for the taking is just ridiculous.

We all know why he made the decision.

But the decision was totally and utterly wrong based on the evidence.

If RVP had petulantly booted the ball at the corner flag or in the top tier of the stadium he'd have deserved a card.

If RVP didn't hear the whistle then it was an appalling decision.

The evidence points far more that he was taking a genuine shot thinking the ball was still in play.

Spurs aren't good enough even without Barca and Real. They struggle to beat the top teams in the premiership on a consistent basis. I'd like you to go through but I wouldn't be surprised if Milan turned you over tonight.

I would love to see ANY of the remaining english clubs win the CL - Spurs have little chance I know and will probably get decimated tonight,but or the credibilty of british sides in UEFA it's important british sides do well in the euro competitions

most Spurs fans know that - it's not rocket science !

i'd rather see an english team at wembley (preferably two) rather than two european teams,end of.

it's been a great adventure for Spurs - well done lads but 99.9% of Spurs fans are realists.
