I agree in that the cup, without Barcelona, is there for the taking. Barcelona are head and shoulders above the rest who don't really have that much between them. Playing in Europe is different to playing in the Premiership and who cares if Spurs can't beat the top teams on a regular basis because neither could Liverpool and yet they went to two Champions League finals in three years. Should they progress tonight Spurs have nothing to fear with the likes of Chelsea, Shakhtar, Real, Bayern or Marseille, given the way Spurs, if they go through, will have beaten both Milan teams.

Harry Redknapp has won the FA Cup final. Against Cardiff City. That's all.

Spurs have won the Carling Cup. Against Avram ****ing Grant.

Liverpool are one of the most successful clubs in Europe. Rafael Benitez won the Spanish League twice with Valencia. He won the UEFA Cup the season before.

You can't ******* compare Benitez's Liverpool with Harry Redknapp leading Spurs into their first CL outing.

derrr - without referring to any other club in particular working on the assumption that Barça are THE team to beat.So,if they get knocked out it gives the rest of us a better chance,not just Spurs but all the other teams - everyone wanted the Gooners to beat Barça just to get them out of the competition !
If,by some miracle Spurs can get through tonight that will make it even more attractive for the rest.

If Chelsea are playing in the final of the CL, winning 2-0 with 10 minutes to play, then I might just start to accept that the cup is there for the taking.

When John Terry walked up to take his pen, I think I might have thought for a split second that the cup was there for the taking.

But I wouldn't say that when Man United, Bayern, Real Madrid, AC Milan (or Spurs) and Arsenal were still in the competition.
