So again, I ask, what is the cut off between "global" and "minority"...???

Rugby league is played in 55 nations now.

Presumably the cut-off between global and minority falls some place after that...

As I have shown with this argument before, it is all definitional and people buying into these descriptions are also deluding themselves...

Both games are played globally.

I like both codes equally as much & dont really favour one over the other but rugby is more global than League, it is played in more countries, has more players & is seen by far more television sets than League. There's also 7's which has spread the game to all corners of the world.

League only has 3 truly professional international teams too, the Crooks, Kiwis & Poms.

I see no point in slagging off mudwrestling, it's a completely different sport to groundshagging which caters for different types.

[quote="Gijou"]"Truly global game" my booty.

Union WC
Winners 4
Runners-up 5

Rugby League WC
Winners 3
Runners-up 4

Apparently, rugby league is a minority sport and union is global.

Bull shy te.

Exposure and misinformation...[/quote

For starters RL have had less winners and runners up in a WC and have staged 13 world cups.

Where as Union has only staged 6 world cups.?

And to add to that footy has had 7 winners in 18.?

Now whats the global game.?

Im a fan of both codes but rugby is way in front globally. I beleive Russia have qualified for union WC next year.!

You won't get any other union winners if you play it for 100 years...

France were supposed to win the last one.

Sorry, no cigar.

As I said, the current figures show that union's global claims are rubbish.

Praying for a change in the future won't assist you...keep trying though.

As we can see, actual analysis of the figures rather than the diatribe surrounding it, reduces union's global claims to almost nothing.

And for a sport that prides itself on nothing else, that makes it a laughing stock...

Good - you accept what I said.

The titles "global" and "minority" mean almost nothing.

People who use them for pointscoring are idiots.

Here endeth the latest lesson.

Rugby union did not earn readmission to the Olympics without stripping their game down to a glorified scrimmage. It ranks behind synchronized diving and doubles luge.

Oh and here he is again, the "Fan of Both codes" Deriding Rugby League again. Why don't you drop the Saints fan act, drop the Rugby League fan act and get back to the Union boards, where you can bore people there.

He is either Peter Fitzsimons or the spawn of Peter Fitzsimons and Spiro Zavos.

Sorry...Zac Zavos (giggle) is the latter.

Hi all, you may have seen the survey I have designed elsewhere on rlfans but thought I may aswell post it in this topic, as I am looking for some more responses, especially from Rugby Union supporters, so if you support both sports, put Rugby Union
