I'd be surprised if Fergie let him leave, he's not really convinced over the past year or so, but the lad has, or maybe had, so much potential. Why do these Brazilians always go back home? A half-fit, lacking motivation Robinho would get into the majority of sides in Europe, whilst Anderson could easily get regular football at a lot of Uefa cup sides around Europe. Why would they go back home with a world cup year coming? I'd have thought Dunga's advice would be to stay in Europe and continue competing at the highest level.
Apparently Fergie had a go at him after the game against City in the CC and left him out of the squad for the Hull game and he then went awol.
I have always liked Anderson but he has not had a very good season at all, as for Tosic leaving I think it's about time.

Aye.
I actually think Anderson has had a pretty decent season so far, he just hasn't played often enough and never gets a regular partner. His best performances IMO have come when he's been part of a middle three, with Fletch and Carrick. He's still only young and has loads of time for him to develop before reaching his prime, only very special players mature so young, Ronaldo, Rooney and Fabregas for example.
Tosic is a weird one, came with so much promise but hasn't delivered. He has a sweet left peg, but he aint strong enough to cut it in the PL IMO, we will cut our losses with him so Glazer can get a new front door on his new mansion probably.

Mad how Tosic was considered good enough, whilst the move for Ljajic was not taken up.
Anderson I really can't explain, when he arrived, in his first season he looked good. He and Hargreaves done a terrific job at Anfield in the 1-0 that year, his performances defied his age, to be so physically strong for a teenager was very impressive, but it seems as time has gone on, he's lost his effect on games, his passing, as well as a lot of his attacking game, seems to have gotten worse. Although he's meant to be an attacking midfielder, at least that's where he played when he was younger, he just doesn't have the attacking quality to justify have the 'free role' behind the striker, which is his apparent best position. I dunno, I think United would be mad to get rid, there's a lot of untapped potential in him, but if his attitude doesn't buck up and he's unable to establish himself in any kind of role in the midfield, then it wouldn't surprise me to see him leave.

Aye I agree, I'd be gutted if we let him go, because he has so much potential, he just doesn't get enough game time. I'd consider sending him on loan somewhere, but can't see him liking that.
Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson are all "Quieiroz" signings, it's interesting that since he's gone, these three have all wanted to leave United too.
so excited for tonight what a game its going to be cant wait bet the atmosphere gonna be buzzing cant wait get in away end and watch it live gonna be immense. I'm going for a 2-1 win on the night for city 4-2 overall

That's the key with Anderson, in and out of the side a lot and not playing with a regular partner. He has at times shown real glimpses of class but for me it's what his role is that is the big question. We use him as a holding, disruptive type of midfielder but during his time in Brazil he was seen as an attacking midfielder who played behind the front two. At Utd he has not shown that, his passing is nowhere near creative enough and he has no real eye for goal. The thing is we already have the likes of Hargeaves and Fletcher who play the same role and like you say he tends to excel when there are two other central midfielders around him.
I still think he could be a top player but it's where to use him that needs to be sorted.
Seems this Smalling is highly rated. It's refreshing for us trying to sign good youngsters now rather than waiting 3 or 4 years and paying £20 million plus ala Carrick, Rio.
He's played two league games and signed for United. In the eyes of United fans he'll be 'world class' by Monday. Andy Griffin gets picked ahead of him. Must be top class.
He seems, from very little he has played, that he knows how to defend but has little composure with the ball and his distribution is poor.
