City have certainly "lost" over Tevez and I really wish he wasnt playing. But I'm glad that the club didnt allow him to exploit the situation for his financial benefit. I dont think it could be said that he has "won". He has lost several millions and he still hasnt been able to engineer his preferred move. He's not the greatest advert for player power. But it will take more than one club, no matter how wealthy, to end it.
I would say neither the club or Tevez have won. And agree that it will take more than one club to end the current player power in the game, however still think a harsher stance over Tevez could possibly have started something. Not sure I have heard of this rule about players in the reserves being able to walk away from their contract, although it could explain why Utd have been playing Pogba more recently. Although you know the game is in a bad state when younger players who have yet to break into the first team are having trying to hold clubs to ransom over contracts.
