| Quote Ordsall Quays Red="Ordsall Quays Red"Were you watching a different game to me? You played OK but were never the better side IMO and I think you lacked any real width to truly trouble a pretty ordinary Arsenal defence.
'"
Yes, it was an ordinary Arsenal side but to be fair playing with 10 men for 88mins against a possession team on a wide pitch is very difficult.
As for us not playing well, we created about 5 or 6 very good scoring chances. Why did we need width when we were creating good chances anyway? To get more width, who should we have taken off? Once Boyata, got sent-off our FBs, who would have provided the width, had to be more cautious. In that situation, we could only hope that Tevez and Silva would pull something out a hat, with a midfielder occasionally joining in the attacks.
We played well I thought, considering the circumstances. It would not have been an injustice if we had nicked a point. If we had scored while only 1-0 down, I am confident we would have picked up a draw. The scoreline flattered Arsenal, as reflected in a number of Arsenal blogs. I am not downhearted. Instead I am looking forward to the derby very much.

| Quote Ordsall Quays Red="Ordsall Quays Red"You're being even more ridiculous than normal now, and that really does take some doing. And Little Flea - that's so very very hilarious.
Just as a point of interest, when has David Silva scored a winner in a Champions League away match for Manchester City this season???'"
What did I say that was wrong?
Silva is infinitely superior to Little Flea. Do you suggest otherwise? If you do I guess that would make you a typical thick Rag.
The Little Flea nickname came about because in one of the threads about the player on a United forum, some of the posters called him Little Flea. Thus you can credit United fans for that little comedy gem.
Just out of interested, when was the last time Rooney scored an away winner in the CL?

| I don't doubt that Silva is a better footballer than Hernandez, you stated that he had done more in 25 minutes of one game than Hernandez has done all season. Hernandez has scored a winning goal in a CL game, a winning goal in a League Cup game and 2 goals that won a PL game. What has Silva done in those 25 minutes that compare to that?
And what has Rooney got to do with the argument??

As for the Little Flea, he had the whole goal to aim at and nearly fluffed it. Even the keeper managed to get a hand to it.
Couple of more goals for United though and he will be 'world class' - just like Wes Brown, Michael Carrick et al..
Flea has received more press than david Silva even though Slva has domne more in 25mins in one game that Flea has done all season. I know that's not United's fault, it is more the fault of the Rag-loving media'"

| Quote Paddy Evra="Paddy Evra"Why have they merged the Balon D'Or and the World Player?'"
Because they're both so small time they want it to be taken more seriously. Every now and then, one of these awards will be a truthful representation of that season, but, even then, if you look through the lists and so on, you will see some strange rankings for players. I remember the debate over Messi and Ronaldo in 2008, when Messi hadn't even been Barca's best player that year, yet the press could build up such momentum that it was considered close at some points. Likewise, Cannavaro fluked the award in 2006 after a fairly average season for Juve - and then Madrid - but still walked away with the 'World's best player' award because he captained his side to world cup glory, when Materazzi was probably better than him during the tournament.
You will always see players higher than they should be due to their reputation, whilst there are some that don't have the reputation so aren't there. Looking at this year's list, there's no Diego Milito, despite being the best striker in Europe last season alongside Drogba. Mesut Ozil is on there despite being inconsistent for Werder, he is good, but not that good. Puyol over Pique? If it's world cup based, how can only one player from Uruguay be on there? Surely Suarez - after a 49 goal season and decent world cup - should be on there?
It is very biased, shamelessly ill-thought and their stupendous emphasis on poor international tournaments show the award's biggest flaw. International football is on the slide, no matter how much they use it to pick their award winners, people can clearly see the world cup is becoming nothing more than a over-hyped pre-season tournament.

Let’s add a bit of context. Hernandez scored against Wolves reserves at Old Trafford. With the exception of Adebayor, name a striker in the PL who wouldn’t have scored that goal (not including Adebayor). Granted he scored a very good goal against Stoke but he still looks Championship to me.
In 25mins, Silva scored a great goal, hit the woodwork, set up two goals and set-up another chance in which we hit the bar. In that game he came on when the team was playing in a way I could best describe as being inept. The team was transformed when he came on. His goal took us to second place in the league.
What did you think of Bebe?

learn to deal with it, this is what Silva has based his career on. One Awesome game, 10 gash games. Hes done it since day 1 in la liga. Real madrid knew not to touch him with a bargepole even though his agent was begging Real madrid to take him (if you believe Marca)

Wolves "reserves" or Blackpool? Not much difference there to be honest, even more so when it wasn't really Wolves' reserves but ho hum.
And conveniently forgetting the winner away at Valencia when we had been second best all match and barely deserved a draw...
And as for Bebe - he tried hard, his first touch was abysmal at times as was his decision making but he never once went hiding and didn't look overawed. All-in-all an OK performance especially considering the "service" he received from Messrs Carrick and Gibson, which was appalling as ever.
But if you want me to say he was "World Class" I will do. He's amazing, he's the best player since Michael Johnson/Stephen Ireland/Daniel Sturridge/Ishmael Miller/Wladimir Weiss etc etc...

hahahah Indeed.
Silva has looked very tidy. He was completely blown away in the Spurs game because of the speed and intensity, as well as the fact that whenever he got the ball, no-one was infront of him. Looked good since then and is getting better.
Macblondie is a typical rag. They had been going on for two years (i.e. since they were 'linked' to him) about how great Silva was. Gets linked to City and he suddenly becomes 'worst signing in PL history'. I don't know if it is down to a lack of understanding of football or obsession with them.

Fair enough....you criticised Carrick and Gibson.
As for Ireland etc., not one City fan I know has referred to them as 'world clas''. You go on United forums or speak to other United fans and often you will hear that pretty much every United players is 'world class'.
As for Wolves......seven changes from the weekend. That is pretty much a reserve team.
Wolves at home or Blackpool away (after they have beaten Liverpool at Anfield).....I would say the latter is the far tougher game.

The majority of it is quite sensible debate, when we had keithcun and even Lenny the loiner it was a good crack, most of the City fans and Liverpool fans are fair and reasonable, and offer a balanced view on all things including United. It's just one individual who seem's to make it his daily mission to come on here and rant about how brilliant City are, and how crap United are, and embarrass himself on a daily basis.

Serious? I remember the term ‘best natural defender in England’ being attached to Wes Brown by United fans on a regular basis and over a considerable period of time. There were plenty on United forums saying that he should be picked ahead of Terry for England. Maybe you only talk to sensible United fans. Certainly not the same United fans as myself. Maybe not worst signing (that view was only held by a number of people), but ‘guaranteed flop’ was pretty much the consensus. Go and have a look on Red Café and Red Issue and see for yourself.

Just because I don’t rate some United players, how do you come to the conclusion that I don’t acknowledge the talent of players?
Just because I don’t fall for what the likes of SKY and Clive Tyldsley tell me, I will always have a different opinion to the majority on here.
