You overrate international football. The past few tournaments have been of very low quality. If you think playing 10 games a year for England means more than 50 games a year for Chelsea, you're barmy :)

Lampard's a 20 goals, 20 assists a year player, there are hardly any players in world football who produce the good like Frank every year.

I'm sure our resident Chelsea fan will agree with me here, but Lampard last year was the driving force behind Chelsea in both the league and CL. He's just a quality player. Even for England I think he's been harshly criticized. Didn't get the English fans' player of the year once? When you've been managed by spineless managers like Sven and McLaren, who just threw all the top players in there without any balance, then you're bound to struggle, but he'd played well under Capello, really well.

That is all that matters. He has been Chelsea's most important player for 5 years at least. They won two League titles, reached a European Cup final and won numerous domestic Cups. The fact that he plays so well, consistently for one of England and Europe's top sides proves how world class he is.

OK then, see also Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand to name just a few.

International football is awful. If a player can play so well so consistently for a top club side in Europe is enough to be deemed World Class.

I expect these three to be regarded as 'world class' by Red Cafe before the end of the week. Valencia is probably regarded as 'world class' already by the posters on that forum.

Probably, but he's had a couple of good games in pre-season, nothing more. He's still got a lot to learn, and there is plenty of room for improvement, but he is at the best place for this to happen.

If he can continue to take players on and get decent balls into the box like last night, then Berbatov, Rooney, Owen, me and others will be pleased because we will score goals. If Tosic can do the same on the left, we will finally have two wingers who can cross a ball for the first time in fooking ages.

On teh subject of Van Der Saar: I think he;'s going to be a huge miss for United. Foster and Kuszcack (sp?) are simply not good enough for a team who will be looking to win the league. They are decent enough back-ups but 2 / 3 months is a long time.

In some ways it could be a blessing in disguise. IMO Tommy K is not good enough to be a goalkeeper for Manchester United, Foster has potential, but hasn't had the chance to show it on a regular basis.

This gives Foster two months at the beginning of the season (when historically we are never at our best) to get a decent run in the side and stake a claim to be our number one.

On the other hand, it gives Fergie a chance to see if he can replace VDS, if not, we have the January window to get a replacement in, because I feel this is VDS' last season as a player.

You've stolen my washing
From out my back garden
You've tarmacked my driveway
Even though I said no
You've nicked my lead flashing
And weighed it in at the scrappy
Oh St Helen's tatters
Come rob me again

I think Cristiano Ronaldo & Wayne Rooney being in (Euro 2004 Team of the Tournament) means that they have both performed to a high level on the International Stage... :?

What, where the team of world class players, Greece, won the tournament?
