Aye, cheers - rescued a horror day. As your quote neatly illustrates - the rest of my picks today being utterly terrible, though Carruthers gave a good run for my money at 66s.

Have collected every day of the meeting, which is definitely a personal best

Back for Aintree in a few weeks, everyone?

Aintree could be interesting this year mate, my past experience of Aintree meetings are backing horses that have run well at Cheltenham and then they go there and run shockers! I tell myself every year not to do it but always end up doing so.

This year may be different though with so many fancied runners flopping at Cheltenham they may go onto Aintree and put these poor showings behind them. Will certainly be worth considering!

If I do as bad there as I have at Cheltenham I may have to cancel my wedding the week after.

From Hull and now trying to spread the RL word in Liverpool, and failing dismally.

I've just seen the Gold Cup and Imperial Commander was superb. Tricky Trickster was very poor considering he is a Grand National favourite and Kauto Star wasn't in the race after his first mistake. He was lucky not to have broken his neck after that fall.

Was there on Friday and had 2 winners including Imperial Commander - sick day. Never heard anything like it when Kauto blundered at the 8th - screaming punters, hearts in their mouths - and when he went down - nooooo. Plenty of people were on Imperial Commander and it was electric watching him coming over the last few fences. I was surprised at the ground changing - it hardly rained at all, some light drizzle, certainally not nearly enough to give the cut in the ground Denman needed.

Seems the the most suitable place to post this, even if its to do with flat racing. Sea The Stars has successfully impregnated Zarkava. So that's the last two Arc winners popping out a sprog. Should be a hell of a beast. Interesting to note that Sea the Stars has been booked for 120 mares in his first year at a cost of £76,000a go!! Nice little earner and not exactly the most strenuous of work
