This is why i'm glad Fergie has a backbone and won't take this player-power nonsense. As good as Beckham/Ruud et al were, nobody is worth keeping only for them to destabilise the whole club. Roman and all the glory fans down at the Bridge deserve all they get.
Still, as long as our "gentlemen" of the press want to sing "happy birthday to you" at press conferences, he'll still be their darling.
That's FOUR times this season he's had a good hiding, where does that justify his leading our international team. I'm baffled.
FWIW i wouldn't mind seeing Harry in charge. But, you're right, he has the 'right' accent, manages a Norf Lahndahn Clahb, and has Scotty in his team, so he is as you say, the media's wet dream. 1 trophy for him am i right? Steve McClaren has 2, and a UEFA Cup Final and we know how he was slaughtered after our pile of poop team was taken to the cleaners by a superior Croatia side at Wembley in '07.
Big win for Utd today, however is the premier league now so poor that Utd and city are both expected to win every game until the 'title decider' on April 30th. Surely both teams will probably drop the odd point or two before then?

There-in lies the problem. Being generous, England are the seventh best team in Europe. The sooner, as a nation, we accept that the better anmd our expectations can be realigned.

Bringing in Ronaldo & Rooney as replacements also helped.
Chelsea's basic problem is that the players they've brought in to replace the old guard, or at least make them less dependent on Terry, Lampard, Essien, Drogba etc, haven't worked out. The Torres buy has been a unmitigated disaster and only Mata is anything like the quality they need. Every time the manager tries to exert his authority, for example by dropping Lampard, the replacements just prove how much he's still needed.
AVB didnt seem to me to be up to the job, but I also think he's paid the price for all the average buys since Mourinho's early days. And to be honest I cant really see how a new manager will fare much better.
