Re: Cheltenham Festival 2011... : Fri Mar 18, 2011 12:05 am
Aside from the Jewson, Ryanair and World Hurdle, some of the races weren't of a great standard. A bit like yesterday.

I wish the festival was Wednesday to Saturday, with plenty of top quality throughout. The Saturday could be the extra day to run as many of the handicaps as possible, as not to dilute the other races.

Along the lines of:

Wednesday;
Supreme Novices Hurdle, The Arkle Novice Chase, Ryanair Chase, Champion Hurdle, Cross Country Chase, Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle
Thursday;
Spinal Research Handicap Chase, Neptune Novice Hurdle, RSA Chase, Champion Chase, Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle, County Handicap Hurdle, Champion Bumper
Friday;
Triumph Hurdle, Jewson Novices Chase, World Hurdle, Gold Cup, Mares Hurdle, Fred Winter Novice Hurdle, Foxhunter Chase, Charity Race
Saturday;
Centenary Novices Handicap Chase, Martin Pipe Conditional Handicap Hurdle, Byrne Group Plate Handicap Chase, Pertems Handicap Hurdle, Grand Annual Handicap Chase, National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup, Fulke Walwyn Handicap Chase

Would stop the main days being cluttered with 'filler' races anyway and give more of a championship feel.
Either that, or run the Saturday card on the Tuesday to get people ready for the real stuff.

Depending on the ground, i will go for Denman.

If there has been the rain that has been forecast, this morning, or will be rain before the race, then that will play to his stengths more.

He is in better condition this season, and i do think Denman will go very close.

Would be alot shorter had Henderson stayed away, alot getting stuck into the big names hope he comes under the radar.

I dont normally bet but for some reason i fancied a punt. I have no clue so read a few bits on the internet and choose the following. God knows if they any good!

EW Baby Run 4pm
EW Imperial Commander 3.20
EW Zarkander 1.30

Any other tips from people on some other races?
