Like I said, I thought it was a nonsense figure that the poster had plucked from the air. But that figure is the amount mentioned by the Daily Mail and the Guardian. It's the figure reported on the US versions of yahoo, which is where I first saw it. Gary Cook is mentioning it as one of the most important partnerships in the history of world football. And for Citeh to comply with the FFP rules, they are going to have to come up with something very big.

Its far more than just a stadium deal. It includes a new shirt sponsorship deal, sponsorship of various infrastructure projects (eg new training facilities) which I believe are exempt from FFPR, and the wider commercial re-development of the area around the stadium. Clearly City are pushing the boundaries on this but it will be interesting to see how Platini's "experts" evaluate such a complicated deal. Woodgate signs for Stoke. He's been around now hasn't he...Leeds, Real Madrid, Newcastle, M'Boro, Spurs...never really lived up to all that hype of his Leeds days IMO.

The rumour about Newcastle's away kit been orange turned out true then. Actually I probably can't really complain, after spending approx £55 on the yellow shirt two years ago.
