And if they where coaching in Grimsby, what gives them the right to attend the FA Cup final than fans of the two teams involved.
Because they gave more to English football than the said fans. It's the way it's always been, and the way it always will be - and rightly so. What would the game in this country come to if individuals didn't give up their time to coach, referee and administor the game at a grass roots level? It's a way of the FA thanking the unsung heroes for their work - a ticket to the show piece event in English football.
Don't worry, the deserving fans who pay good money to go and watch Everton and Chelsea week in, week out will more than likely get a ticket. The "floating" support will struggle, just like they'd probably struggle to get a ticket for a big game at Goodison / Stamford Bridge.

but I don't agree with the figures. 25,000 allocation to both clubs is a disgrace, they could easily give 30,000 to each club allowing for between 25,000-30,000 to this 'football family.' I can't agree they should be given the tickets before the fans. After the clubs allocation they have 40,000 tickets floating, no way will they all go to these footballing heroes you describe. How many will end up being sold on the black market, its a joke.
A fella I spoke to coming out of Stamford Bridge last wednesday was there on his friends season ticket (Everton fan from London, using a Chelsea fans season ticket) that was his first game all season (and he didn't even buy a ticket) but yet because he plays football his county FA get an allocation so he has a ticket for the final and he shouldn't, what reason has he got for getting one over genuine fans.
Not all the people that pay good money will be able to get one, I know of one person who hasn't missed a game home or away all season but will not be able to get one as she isn't a STH, however, should the clubs have been given a bigger allocation she would have been.
The English FA are a disgrace sometimes and the allocating of FA Cup Final tickets is one them times.
No, he's just pretending to be me. And making stupid comments that I'd never say. I'll make a prediction that if Barca have beaten Chelsea, they've done it with the help of a soft sending off.

We'll have to agree to disagree then.
The bolded bit grabbed my attention though. How does she go to every home and away game when she isn't a season ticket holder? Can anyone get hold of away tickets for an Everton match? And how would another 5,000 tickets gurantee her a ticket.

No, she is a member of a supporters club so she gets her tickets with them. Now they either have no tickets or a very very small number. But to fair I give you your point on that one, I am a season ticket holder and have been to all but two away games this year so i will have no problem getting a ticket.
Sorry, i didn't mean for it to seem like I said she would be guaranteed one with an extra 5,000. I meant to say with another 5,000 off the FA she and many others in here position would have a chance as that would give us enough to cover our season tickets holders plus a few thousand like her.

Ah, ok, gotcha.
Don't get me wrong, I know what you are going through. For the final a couple of years ago United were in the exact same position. They had 56,000+ season ticket holders and 25,000 tickets. The fact is, the FA choose to do it that way, and it's not changed in many, many years. Uefa do it for the Champions League final too, it's just the way of the world.
I think the killer is not the "football family" tickets, but sponsors and club Wembley tickets, they take up at least half of the 40,000 tickets that aren't allocated to the clubs. But, that's the world we live in.
